(in Two cover System) are invited ( through both on E-tender and manual) by the Chief Engineer,
TWAD Board, Madurai under Item-war Tender System for Providing Under Ground Sewerage
Scheme (Balance works) in Zone 8,8A,10 and construction of pumping stations in the existing
zones under phase I of package II and Zone 11,12 ,13A and 15 under phase I of Package III in
Thoothukudi corporation in Thoothukudi District of Tamil Nadu as detailed below.
1. This Procurement ,Construction, Contract will follow the procedure prescribed under The Tamil
Nadu Transparency in Tenders Act, 1998 and Rules 2000 and subsequent amendments there on.
2. Bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on submission of written application accompanied with a separate Demand Draft from any Nationalized / Scheduled
bank drawn in favour of the Executive Engineer, TWAD Board , Sewerage Division, Thoothukudi
for the above Work as detailed below.
3. Cost of tender document of work is Rs.1000 /- + 5% VAT.
4. The bid documents can also be downloaded free of cost from www.tenders.tn.gov.in and www.

5. Amount of Earnest Money Deposit will be 1% of the tender value of the work

THE
GOVERNMENT
on
Wednesday cleared amendmentstotheNationalTariffPolicy
forElectricity,whichtightensthe
discretion currently allowed to
regulators while setting power
tariffs and makes a strong pitch
forthepromotionofcleanenergy.
The tariff policy has more
than 30 amendments in the existing tariff policytheNational
Electricity Policy, 2005.
The regulations tighten the
norms followed by electricity
regulators for setting power tariffs by requiring them to necessarilybeguidedbythenewpolicy while framing regulations
under section 61 of the
Electricity Act 2003.
After the amendments, it
would be binding on the regulators to take decisions as per the
changed policy.
A significant addition to the
objective of the policy are the
promotion of renewable generation sources and aim to create
more competition, efficiency in
operations and improvement in
quality of power supply. One of

APPLE INC has applied to set up
its own stores in India, one of the
worlds fastest growing smartphone markets, as the iPhonemaker looks to tap new opportunities amid worries of slowing
growth in its main markets.
Apple sells its iPhones, iPads
and Macs in India through third
party resellers, and industry analysts estimate that the
Cupertino, California-based
company has less than a 2 percentshareinIndiassmartphone
market, dominated by cheaper
brands.
