2015 NAMCYA Regional Center II Qualifiers commences, winners for first

leg announced
The National Music Competition for Young Artists (NAMCYA), together with the
National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), Cultural Center of the
Philippines (CCP), the Department of Education (DepED) and the Commission for
Higher Education (CHEd) announces the first set of National Finalists from Regional
Center II (Metro Manila and Regions 3, 4-A, 4-B, and 5).
The first Regional Center II Competitions were held last October 3, 2015 at the
University of the Philippines College of Music, Diliman, Quezon City. The Finals
Competitions will be held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines on November 2429, 2015.

The whole-day competitions were held at the UP College of Music Minihall and
Abelardo Hall Auditorium. In the afternoon, a workshop on Philippine Music was also
given by well-respected Rondalla master, Maestro Celso Espejo and Elaine Juliet
Espejo-Cajucom.
Adjudicating the competitions were Prof. Jocelyn Guadalupe, Dr. Verne dela Pea,
and Elaine Juliet E. Cajucom for Rondalla Category B, Mariefrance Ballester, Edna
Culig, and Atty. Orlando J. Ocampo for Solo Rondalla Instrument Category A, and
Rica Nepomuceno, Naomi Paz Sison, and Lawrence Jatayna for Voice Category B.
The NAMCYA Foundation Inc. is grateful to the following for their utmost support to
the NAMCYA Regional Competitions: Dr. Luz S. Almeda, Regional Director and Mr.

the competitions.

The next leg of the Regional Center II competitions will be held on October 10 at the
UP College of Music, and on October 17 at Manila Pianos in Makati. Competition
