Sumits journey started from the North Indian town of Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh and he went
to the Himalayas (the home of yoga), where he discovered the ancient techniques as a way to
attaining human consciousness and overall well-being. He began practising Yoga in 1992 at
the age of 12 under the guidance of his Guru Shreeram Sharma Acharya in the Himalayas.
Haridwar in India. From here he went to Pune to fine tune his nuances of yogic science and
honed his talent with the renowned Yoga Guru BKS Iyengar. At the same time, he was active
in learning and practicing Active Meditation and looking for alternative routes to achieving
excellence in Yoga.
Since then he has been highly regarded as a professional yoga trainer-cum-therapist and is
busy spreading the magic of yoga travelling across the world.

Asanas
Learn the physical exercises called Asanas (meaning postures), that provide a
gentle stretching that acts to lubricate the joints, muscles, ligaments, tendons and
other parts of the body. These help improve the nervous system, circulation,
release tension and increase flexibility.
With the help of a series of postures developed by the masters over enturies, you
will be able to achieve the dynamics of the five elements of fitness. These are:
strength, balance, stamina, endurance, agility and happiness.
Pranayam
According to the Yoga Master BKS
Iyengar, "Your mind follows your breath
and your breath follows your mind".
Deep breathing, or Pranayam, is
essential to cleanse and nourish the
physical body. The supply of oxygen in
abundance to every cell is critical to
attaining a balanced state of body and
mind. Breathing connects the body to
its source of power, the Solar Plexus.
When tapped, this energy called Prana,
is released for overall rejuvenation.
Sattvik Bhojan
Broadly translates as Yogic Food, Sattvik Bhojan is a meat-free,
vegetarian diet. It enables the body to obtain maximum benefit from
food, air, water and sunlight. A yogic diet consists of food that is
easily digested, is nourishing and promotes good health. Followers
of a yogic diet find themselves attain a high standard of health, a
keen intellect and tranquility of mind.
If you inculcate and habituate your daily diet with Sattvik Bhojan, or
the Yogic food, you will able to increase your flexibility and agility. It
will also keep you away from all the digestive disorders that you are
likely to get due to a non-vegetarian diet.
