1. How do you plan to use the money?


To support the National and Regional priorities listed in point 2
Including : Developing and strengthening the regional network;
Improving Local Regional and National Communication: Linking with
the National Forum of People with Learning Disabilities Working
together (families and self-advocates)Monitoring progress.

2.What will you do to support the National outcomes & priorities of


a). Developing and strengthening the regional network
Use the National Forum grant money to help involve and hear the voice
of more people with Learning Disabilities in the Regional Forum
including :

more people with multiple disabilities and who challenge servicesplus local groups that are not able to attend regional meetings
Continue to use social media and our Annual Regional Conference to
hear the big issues and express them to the National Forum and

Regional Decision Makers and funders -We will also get out an about
more to communicate and listen to local groups.
Develop training for self-advocates to strengthen Experts by Experience
skills in the region- so we can hear from Experts who visit services of
people with multiple disabilities and challenging behaviour-and by doing
so find out about the big issues of people whose voices arent always
heard.
We will continue to support our two experienced regional reps to attend
the National Forum and by developing and strengthening communication
across the region they will be able to represent more peoples voices
from our region.

b). Communication
The Regional Forum will communicate using
Face to Face contact at Regional local forums
Consultation events facilitated by Pathways Associates
Use of Social Media and Website
Annual Regional Conference
The Co-ordinate and Chief Exe being available by email text and phone

c). Linking with the National Forum of People with Learning


Disabilities
Pathways Associates CIC and Inclusion North Chief Executives will
communicate regularly at a Strategic Level.
The Regional Co-ordinator and National Co-ordinator Lucy Virgo will
continue to communicate by phone and email

We will continue to support our two experienced regional reps to attend


the National Forum and by developing and strengthening communication
across the region they will be able to represent more peoples voices
from our region.
A National Forum Agenda Item will be regularly allocated to the Regional
Forum Agenda and at the Regional 3 day Conference.
All information sent by National Forum to Region will be distributed to
local groups.
Consultation event information will be passed and communicvsated to
the National Forum

d). Working together (families and self-advocates)


We will continue to have regular meetings between the family and selfadvocate co-ordinators
Self-advocates and families will work together using our co-production
forums ,events, NHS and ADSS working groups which Pathways
associates facilitate.

3.What are your 1-2 actions that will strengthen and develop your
regional network between October 2015 and March 2016?
See 1.a- Use the National Forum grant money to help involve and hear

4.Thinking about where the region is today, what do you want to see
strengthened/developed in your region by the end of the grant term
March 2017
There will be more involvement of people with multiple disabilities in
regional self-advocacy- due to Experts by Experience gaining the
skills to engage more with people with multiple disabilities and
challenging behaviour and tell us about the big Issues of the people
they visit.
There will be more involvement of local groups which at the moment
do not have strong links into Regional or National Advocacy .Due to
Regional Forum members getting out and about more and the
continued development of the Regional Conference and use of
Social Media.
The added time spent with individuals and local groups will help
facilitate individuals to have more time to better prepare for
meetings and understand local, regional and national issues and
have their voices heard.
