Attention Parents:
Student Led Conferences
Student-Led Conferences (SLC) are conferences in which students communicate their progress towards academic learning targets and Habits of Scholarship.
Why are we doing them at Irmo Middle School? How does it impact student achievement? When students
are a part of the conferences, they have more ownership in the learning process with increased student success.
Students have an opportunity to present their work and reflect on learning.
When: Student-Led Conferences will take place in March 2016 for all IMS students.
6th Grade March 7-11
7th Grade March 21-25
8th Grade March 14-18
What Should Parents Expect: Students select work as a part of their Student Portfolio to present. They have an
opportunity to self assess progress and areas for improvement. Parents have the opportunity to share in their
students development and see first hand student growth.
Look out soon for your students personal written conference invitation to attend their SLC!!!
