Holy Rosary

How to pray the Rosary

Make the Sign of the Cross and say the "Apostles'
Creed."
Say the "Our Father."
Say three "Hail Marys."
Say the "Glory be to the Father."
Announce the First Mystery; then say the "Our
Father."
Say ten "Hail Marys," while meditating on the
Mystery.
Say the "Glory be to the Father."
Announce the Second Mystery; then say the "Our
Father." Repeat 6 and 7 and continue with Third,
Fourth and Fifth Mysteries in the same manner.
After the Rosary:
HAIL, HOLY QUEEN, Mother of Mercy, our life,
our sweetness and our hope! To thee do we cry, poor
banished children of Eve; to thee do we send up our
sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears.
Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of
mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto
us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement,
O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!
V. Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.

R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of

Christ.
Let us pray. O GOD, whose only begotten Son, by
His life, death, and resurrection, has purchased for
us the rewards of eternal life, grant, we beseech
Thee, that meditating upon these mysteries of the
Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we
may imitate what they contain and obtain what they
promise, through the same Christ Our Lord. Amen.
After each decade say the following prayer
requested by the Blessed Virgin Mary at Fatima: "O
my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires
of hell, lead all souls to Heaven, especially those
who have most need of your mercy."

Novena
Blessed Trinity

Holy Trinity, I am humbled by the thought of your

greatness! Your power overwhelms me. Your infinite
goodness causes my heart to burst forth in songs of
praise.
God, loving Father, you are always by me when I
need you. You wait patiently when I stray. You never
tire of forgiving when I contradict your Holy Will.
You sustain me even when I am foolish enough to
think that I do not need your help.
Holy, loving, merciful Father, I thank you for giving
me your Son, Jesus, to be the Way, the Life, the
Truth.
Lord Jesus, you are the bridge and the path to the
Father. When I put my hand in yours, the journey is
easy and sure. You chose to become man to take
upon yourself my weaknesses. You died to wash
away my sins. You arose to show me that my destiny
is eternal life.
Lord, Holy Spirit, pour your love into my soul, so
that I prefer your eternal designs to my own. Make
me compassionate like the Father, self-sacrificing
like Jesus, full of love like you. Help me when I
falter. Lift me when I fall. Inspire me to do always
what is expected of a disciple of Jesus.
Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, One God
who alone are holy and good, I adore you. Do not
permit me to worship the false idol of myself or the
idols of transitory success and material riches. I
thank you for the blessings you have bestowed on

me in the past and I entrust myself and my dear ones

entirely to your Divine Providence.
TO YOU BE PRAISE, GLORY AND HONOR
FOREVER, BLESSED TRINITY.

St. Joseph
Saint Joseph, I, your unworthy child, greet you. You
are the faithful protector and intercessor of all who
love and venerate you. You know that I have special
confidence in you and that, after Jesus and Mary, I
place all my hope of salvation in you, for you are
especially powerful with God and will never
abandon your faithful servants. Therefore I humbly
invoke you and commend myself, with all who are
dear to me and all that belong to me, to your
intercession. I beg of you, by your love for Jesus and
Mary, not to abandon me during life and to assist me
at the hour of my death.
Glorious Saint Joseph, spouse of the Immaculate
Virgin, obtain for me a pure, humble, charitable
mind, and perfect resignation to the divine Will. Be
my guide, my father, and my model through life that
I may merit to die as
you did in the arms of Jesus and Mary.
Loving Saint Joseph, faithful follower of Jesus
Christ, I raise my heart to you to implore your
powerful intercession in obtaining from the Divine
Heart of Jesus all the graces necessary for my
spiritual and temporal welfare, particularly the grace
of a happy death, and the special grace I now
implore:

(Mention your request).

Guardian of the Word Incarnate, I feel confident that
your prayers in my behalf will be graciously heard
before the throne of God. Amen.
MEMORARE
Remember, most pure spouse of Mary, ever Virgin,
my loving protector, Saint Joseph, that no one ever
had recourse to your protection or asked for your aid
without obtaining relief. Confiding, therefore, in
your goodness, I come before you and humbly
implore you. Despise not my petitions, foster-father
of the Redeemer, but graciously receive
them. Amen.

Mother of Perpetual Help

Oh Mother of Perpetual Help, grant that I may ever
invoke your powerful name, the protection of the
living and the salvation of the dying. Purest Mary,
let your name henceforth be ever on my lips. Delay
not, Blessed Lady, to rescue me whenever I call on
you. In my temptations, in my needs, I will never
cease to call on you, ever repeating your sacred
name, Mary, Mary. What a consolation, what
sweetness, what confidence fills my soul when I
utter your sacred name or even only think of you! I
thank the Lord for having given you so sweet, so
powerful, so lovely a name. But I will not be content
with merely uttering your name. Let my love for you
prompt me ever to hail you Mother of Perpetual
Help. Mother of Perpetual Help, pray for me and

grant me the favor I confidently ask of you.

(Then say three Hail Marys).

St. Jude Thaddeus

May the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus be adored, and
loved in all the tabernacles until the end of time.
Amen.
May the most Sacred Heart of Jesus be praised and
glorified now and forever. Amen
St. Jude pray for us and hear our prayers. Amen.
Blessed be the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Blessed be the Immaculate Heart of Mary
Blessed be St. Jude Thaddeus, in all the world and
for all Eternity.
(say this prayer, followed by the Our Father and
the Hail Mary)

and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock
and it will be opened to you.
Behold I knock, I seek and ask for the grace of

Hail Mary

Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.

Hail Mary

Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.

I now ask for the grace of

Our Father
Hail Mary
Glory Be to the Father
Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.
O Sacred Heart of Jesus, for whom it is impossible
not to have compassion on the afflicted, have pity on
us miserable sinners and grant us the grace which we
ask of you, through the Sorrowful and Immaculate
Heart of Mary, your tender Mother and ours.
Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, our life, our
sweetness and our hope.
To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve: to
thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and
weeping in this vale of tears.
Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of
mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto
us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus, O clement,
O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!
Pray for us O holy Mother of God, that we may be
made worthy of the promises of Christ.

St. Joseph, foster father of Jesus, pray for us.

Amen.

Immaculate Heart of Mary

O Most Blessed Mother, heart of love, heart of
mercy, ever listening, caring, consoling, hear our
prayer. As your children, we implore your
intercession with Jesus your Son. Receive with
understanding and compassion the petitions we
place before you today, especially ...(special
intention).
We are comforted in knowing your heart is ever
open to those who ask for your prayer. We trust to
your gentle care and intercession, those whom we
love and who are sick or lonely or hurting. Help all
of us, Holy Mother, to bear our burdens in this life
until we may share eternal life and peace with God
forever.
Amen.

Apung Mamacalulu (Sepulcher)

I come to You, o Apung Mamacalulu
with all that weighs down my soul,
with all my worries and anxieties,
with all the trials that confront me,
with all that troubles my heart and my mind,
with all the needs of the people I love,
with all my sins and weaknesses,
with my frail faith,
with my wavering trust,
with my imperfect love.
I come to You like the woman who had been
bleeding for years
so that like her, I, too, would be cured by just
touching
the hem of Your garment.
I come to You like that leper who begged for Your
mercy
so that You would touch me and heal me,
so that You would cleanse my soul and my body,
so that You would grant me a new life and new sense
of purpose.
I come to You to commend my loved ones to Your
care
like the people who brought their paralytic friend
before You
so that he could be touched by You. I too, dear Lord
am longing to bring my loved ones closer to You
so that they too would get the chance to hear Your
comforting words,
so that by the power of Your grace

their wobbly knees and drooping spirits would

regain strength,
so that they would not falter and fall or lose their
way again.
I come to You o Apung Mamacalulu
like the Canaanite woman,
who pleaded and begged in behalf of her sick
daughter and
believed in the goodness of Your heart and
in Your infinite mercy and compassion for the
helpless.
Like her, I count on Your grace like a dog waiting
for scraps to
fall from the masters table.
I come to You like the woman accused of adultery,
who was bound to be stoned by the self-righteous,
because I know that You are merciful,
and that You alone can forgive my shortcomings,
You alone can shield me from shame,
And You alone can lift me up.
I come to You like St. Peter
when You appeared to him and he almost drowned
in shame,
when You invited him to break bread with you
so that he could reaffirm his love for You,
despite his repeated denials of ever knowing you at
the hour of Your trial.
I come to You, like the disciples on their way to
Emmaus
so that like them, I, too, could walk with You
and find enlightenment along the way,
so that through Your divine words
my heart, grown cold and numb and shrouded in
darkness,

would be set aflame and find light in your love,

so that I would sense and appreciate Your presence
in our midst
and find the strength to confront the realities that I
have always been avoiding.
I surrender everything to You, O Apung Mamacalulu

all that I have and all that I am

because You alone are my Lord and my God,
You who live and reign with the Father and the Holy
Spirit
forever and ever. Amen.

Sto. Nino
O Seor Santo Nio, you are our King and our God,
we worship you. You are our strong defender, we
turn to you.
You are the patron of Cebu, the Philippines and the
world, we come to you; You have made
extraordinary wonders through your miraculous
image in those chosen islands, remember us. Look
down at this poor soul that comes to you for help.
Lead us with your wisdom; discipline us with your
truth; console us with your tenderness, protect us
with your might.
We consecrate today our thoughts of you, only with
you shall they be occupied; our words, only of you
shall they speak; our sufferings, that we may endure
them for your sake. We beg you Seor Santo Nio,
illuminine our understanding, kindle our will,

cleanse our body, sanctify our soul. We wish what

you wish, because you wish, as you wish, as long as
you wish.
Grant us, Seor Santo Nio, that we may feel love
toward you, be strict toward ourselves be zealous
toward our fellowmen, and rightly despise the things
of the world. Help us to overcome sensuality with
strict discipline, avariciousness wtih generousity,
anger with gentleness, indolence with zealous
industry. Make us wise in counsel, courageous in
danger, patient in adversity, humble in prosperty.
Teach us, dear Santo Nio, how worthless is the
world, how sublime is heaven, how brief is time,
how long is eternity. Grant us, lastly, that we may
remember you, adore you, love you and serve you
here on earth that we may be happy with you forever
and ever in heaven. Amen.
