Chehere-Site Visit

Introduction :
The purpose of our visit was to familiarize ourselves with the site conditions in
terms of :
1. Availability of General materials for construction .
2. Ease of transportation and haulage charge for the materials in the site.
3. Get contacts of the local owner of the factory and know the current rates.
Location : 6 Km from Dolalghat
Latitude : 2740'25.45"N

Meeting the locals

1. Block factory 1
After walking about 700 m from Chehere, we found a block factory .We
happened to meet two locals doing their daily chore nearby. Binaya Dai asked
the man if we can meet the owner of the factory . He helped us meet the
owner ,Sujan Lal Shrestha ,the owner of the factory .

Note: Sujan lal Shrestha,builder said that of the 3 sizes of hollow concrete block
,the rate were different

The haulage charge from Chehere to SanghaChowk (13 Km ) was previously Rs

3500 and recently after the earthquake and fuel crisis,it hit up to Rs 5000,along with
added Govt tax. He said that about 90% of the supply to Sangha Chowk meets from
his factory.He said that he is even the incharge of the forest there, so on
community request or so,he can provide with woods from Sal,Agrakh etc. He was
one of the reliable builder there.
We went to Sand quarry located there and measured the mini tripper.
Mini Tripper :3.12 x 1.82 x 0.5 (cu.m)
2. Crusher
After walking some more distance ,we reached a crusher which was closed because
the fuel crisis had halted the supply to cement .It was of the owner,Suman Giri. As
we were unable to reach him,we asked for his contact no to the locals.
We sized the Bumper : 4.33 x 2.35 x 0.81 (cu.m)

Findings : As we were waiting for Sundar Dai to pick us around Dolalghat Bazaar,we
saw a local RCC construction going on. As Binay Dai went asked the home owner to
talk about the mason rates,we even found out that the workers were from
Sindhupalchowk .Binaya Dai asked one of the worker,if they will be available and
he said he will be available under Petty Contractor,Mr.Majhi.
