Computer science Affiliated Computer Services, Inc. (NYSE: ACS) today announced a $21 million,
18-month contract renewal with the Hawaii Department of Human Services to provide
fiscal agent services, as well as services related to processing pharmacy and
non-pharmacy claims for Hawaii Medical Assistance Programs.
Consumer
As part of the contract, ACS will deploy its electronic health record tool

(DirectAccessEHR) to aid Hawaiian health care providers and payers improve the
delivery of quality healthcare, increase efficiency, and support safety.

demonstrates how prior experience and the ability to introduce innovative services can
deliver tremendous benefits for the citizens of Hawaii,” said Christopher T. Deelsnyder,
senior vice president and managing director for ACS’ Government Healthcare
Electronic Design Solutions.
Automation
ACS has provided fiscal agent services for the state’s Medicaid program since 2002,
and delivered pharmacy services since 2001. This recent contract is the result of a
Hardware re-bid for Hawaii’s Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) and Pharmacy
Benefit Management (PBM) and for the first time, consolidates the two programs into
a single contract. Additionally, the contract includes two, one-year options.
