PRESIDENTS REPORT
While I was reflecting on what to write in my
last Presidents Report for 2014, I thought about
our DSV website. It think its wonderful that people
Google about dowsing and find us that way.
Recently Ive received a number of calls from
people wanting to know more about the DSV. Ive
been able to connect some of our members and
Committee members with various ones who were
looking for dowsing assistance. One person had
just bought a property in the country and wanted a
dowser to determine whether there was
underground water suitable to sink a bore and to
dowse to find any underground springs.
Another person wanted dowsing help to find a
lost object. Someone else wanted assistance in
finding a safe place on a new property to build
their home. Yet another person was seeking
dowsing assistance to heal a sick home. These
inquiries covered many facets of dowsing and
serve as a reminder of how far-reaching the work
can be. It shows that more and more people are
discovering that dowsing involves a great deal
more than finding water.
With the surge in interest, Heather Wilks and I
are looking at possibly running our separate
workshops again. I hold mine over two afternoons,
usually on a Saturday. In my Basic Dowsing class
I teach beginners how to get their pendulum/rods
moving and I touch on many things that dowsing
can be used for. I tend to allow people a month or
more to practice and then hold an Advanced
Dowsing workshop which goes into more detail
about geopathic stress in particular but also other
aspects of dowsing.

Heather likes to run one-day workshops. As

well as introducing dowsing to beginners, she
helps dowsers having difficulty trusting their
dowsing, to build their confidence. She covers
a lot of advanced dowsing with a focus on
using dowsing to heal. And she told us at the
last meeting that shes almost finished writing
her dowsing ebook.
If youd like to learn more about dowsing at
a workshop run by either of us, please contact
us for details.
I was very grateful to our Committee
members for their prayers, healing and support
for me after I broke my arm. More recently
theyve been supporting Shahla Deeby, our
long-time member who also broke her arm in a
fall and has since had major surgery. Please
add to the Committees absent healings to
support her while she is recovering. We can
then look forward to welcoming her back with a
cheery smile over those afternoon teas she
kindly arranges for us. Thanks to everyone for
sending healing support to Shahla.
I hope to see you at our next meeting on
Sunday 30 November when member Mari
Metcalfe will share her dowsing experiences.
She divides her time between Australia and the
UK. In belonging to the British Society of
Dowsers as well as the DSV, Mari offers two
quite different perspectives and experiences.
As this is the last newsletter for the year, Id
like to wish you a very happy festive season
and a relaxing holiday break. I look forward to
seeing you again on 15 February for our first
meeting of 2015 (when memberships are due
for renewal).

OUR NEXT MEETING

This promises to be a fascinating talk which

will hopefully lead some of our dowsers to
begin dowsing with archaelogy in mind. While
Roman remains are unlikely in Australia of
course, theres every chance of uncovering
some of our countrys own fascinating history.

OUR LAST MEETING

For our next meeting on Sunday 30 November

we have another new speaker. Mari Metcalfe is a
DSV member who divides her year in two,
following the sun. She spends the warmer months
Down Under in Melbourne and then travels to the
UK for their warmer months.
As a member of both the DSV and the British
Dowsers attending meetings for both Mari is in
a fairly unique position. She can provide us with
dowsing perspectives from both the northern and
southern hemispheres.

Mike Morrison was well received at our

October meeting. He spoke about his passion
as an inventor and shared that his business
partner quietly checks his engineering results
by dowsing. Over time this has led to some
valuable fine tuning of detailed measurements
across his many inventions. These pinpointed
dowsing results have led to significant
developments which he feels wouldnt have
otherwise eventuated.

Mari will present to us on the topic of

Archaeological Dowsing. She has recently
returned from Dorchester On Thames, 8 miles (13
km) from Oxford in Britain. Shed been having
great difficulty digging in her garden and wondered
whether the problem may be due to the remains of
a Roman road.

Mike Morrison

Mike talked about his metaphysical

development which began as a teenager. He
spoke about the wonders of synchronicity, the
serendipity that continues to support him today
in pursuing his many passions.
Mike introduced us to his Earth Guarden
composter, the Bio Fuel system he created for
composting kitchen scraps. He described it as
an apartment house for worms!

Depiction of Roman architfacts

The Director of Archaeology in the British

Dowsing Society had earlier visited the Hampshire
village to dowse the 13.5 acre Allotment (where
Mari also gardens) in search of Roman ruins.
Mari was pleased that the Director returned to
investigate her own garden and with his dowsing
was able to verify not only her suspected Roman

There was great enthusiasm for all the

possibilities of encouraging children to get
involved, thereby educating them about the
importance of caring for the environment.
There was a rush after he finished speaking
and Mike sold all of the units he had on the
day.
He also introduced us to some exciting new
prospects that are now in his sights, which hold
great promise in terms of putting a great deal

of waste products to valuable use in the

environment. This covered items like finely-ground
glass for use as a fertiliser a great way to
overcome discarded glass bottles etc. Another
was the value of old coffee grounds as a magic
compost ingredient. He was excited about the
possibilities of sheep manure as a powerful
fertiliser ingredient. And he shared his excitement
about a new high-speed lawn clipping composting
technique hed discovered.
After many questions and interaction from the
group, Mike closed by urging us to get young
children as involved as possible to help with the
environment.
Thats exactly our aim when it comes to
dowsing. Perhaps its time we put some real
thought into how we can involve youngsters to
foster their interest in such desirable pursuits. (Ed)

Many sacred sites from ancient times are

on points where the earth energy is positive,
giving off peaceful healing energy. But for
every positive point, there is a negative point.
This is what Im focusing on in this article. Im
sure weve all walked into a building or
someones home where weve felt uneasy and
couldnt wait to leave again. This is because
the vibrational energy of the place was low.
There are many reasons why a building can
feel this way. It might be built on a negative
earth energy point. Perhaps theres friction
between the occupants of the building which
can cause the energy levels to drop. If the
property isnt brought back to its correct
vibrational level, over time it may lead to health
problems.
If I had read that comment a few years ago,
I would have said the author Had a few
kangaroos missing from the top paddock. Id
have thought someone was bloody mad to
believe in such things. But as I began hearing
more and more on this subject, I decided it was
worth looking into. I began to read quite a
number of books, mainly about dowsing, and
Ive listened to some fascinating speakers at
the DSV meetings. This all started me on a
fascinating journey, one Im sure will last the
rest of my life.
I initially started using an L rod to dowse
and then moved on to a pendulum. But as I
progressed and became more sensitive to
energies, I came to the point where I no longer
require any dowsing devices for the energy
work I do. I just have a knowing about what a
propertys energy levels are.

GONE IN 60 SECONDS
By Mick Moran, DSV Life-member.

There are many forms of energy around us.

Most we know about, but there are some most
people have never heard of. The energy Im
referring to here are earth energies. All matter is
made up of vibrational energy. This also includes
humans. We are all surrounded by an energy field,
sometimes called an aura. The earth is no
different. It is a living breathing entity and is
emitting all kinds of energies, some good, some
not so good.

Of course theres a downside to this. When

I visit a property with particularly low energy or
if I even walk near one like that, it can give me
problems. Sometimes I feel a tightening in the
chest and have difficulty breathing. At other
times I can start feeling very sick in the
stomach. Id find it very unpleasant to live in a
place like this and Im sure that if I did it could
affect my health. Unfortunately many people
do live in homes with low energy and often
they have no idea about the case. However on
some level the human body is all too aware of
any negative energy around it.
Recently while on my daily ride around the
beautiful township where I live, I was getting an
uneasy feeling as I was nearing one of a group
of houses in the main street. I knew straight
away the place was suffering from low energy.
Thats not so unusual as it can easily happen
to a building at one time or another.
What did surprise me that particular day
was that as I rode, I began picking up low
energy from more and more of the houses. I
didnt know why, but by the time I arrived

Dowsing Society of Victoria Inc.

home, Id detected seven homes that were

indicating theyd be less than ideal to live in. As
there were so many I wrote down the location of
each of the properties I felt could do with a bit of
healing.

The next day while I rode past each of the

properties Id cleared in my home town. I
sensed everything was fine. The positive
energy had returned to each home making
each much more comfortable to live in. I didnt
have go to Ballarat, Melbourne or Sydney to
check out the other three as I knew everything
was fine with them as well. Another good
reason of course was that Sydney is over 800
kilometres away.

Before I started doing anything, I decided to

check a few more. I regularly test for low energy in
buildings for some friends of mine, so I thought
this would be a good time to check them out as
well. Some places are in Ballarat, some in
Melbourne and a couple are situated in Sydney.
After checking each of these I was surprised to
find three had negative or low energy levels. So I
added them to my list making a total of ten I
believed were in need of some help.
Melbourne

My own home suffers from these kinds of

problems too from time to time. It was built
over six points of negative earth energies
which I havent been able remove
permanently. Yet! So from time to time I have
to keep correcting the negativity as it crops up.
Ballarat

I knew all I had to do was to remove all the

negativity and low vibrational energy from each
property, regardless of whether the cause was it
earth energies, friction from within, or from some
outside source. I usually prefer to detect one place
at a time, so it was new for me to have a go at
clearing so many at once. I wasnt sure if it was
even possible, but it was certainly worth trying.
I concentrated on the ten properties on my list
and went about clearing all the unwanted low
energy from all of them. I checked the time before
I started as I felt it could take quite a while. To my
astonishment, less than 60 seconds later the
process was finished. I believed it had been a
complete success. On checking, I couldnt detect
anything harmful in any of the ten properties. The
energy levels had returned to normal. I was
surprised to find that clearing ten properties took
no longer than clearing just one.

Ive found over time that I can detect very

subtle changes in my home which means its
due to be cleared again. Fortunately clearing
houses doesnt require some kind of exotic or
even erotic ritual, such as running naked
around a camp fire at midnight on the night of
a full moon. (A very disturbing thought). It is all
done from with the mind and with the use of
intent. Im pleased to say that this form of
clearing can be done to any property anywhere
in the world without leaving the comfort of your
own cleared home.

THE 5 RULES OF HAPPINESS

DSV LIBRARY
The DSV Library regularly receives dowsing
newsletters and journals from dowsing
organisations all over the world.

Edited from an article by Burt Goldman, creator

of Quantum Jumping.

You know when you're happy, and certainly

no one has to tell you when you're sad. But
what is it that makes a person happy? It is
important to realize that what makes you
happy might depress another person. There
are people, because of guilt, a feeling they do
not deserve what they have, or a feeling they
will lose what they have that makes them
unhappy when they should be happy.
Possessions are a poor measure of
happiness. Possessions are subjective and
relative to the individual and the individual's
viewpoint. Instead, we will use a philosophy as
an example.

We also have an extensive range of excellent

dowsing books available.
As a DSV member you are entitled to borrow
any of our library items. Please feel free to browse
through our library when you visit us for the next
DSV meeting.

This philosophy is about enjoying things

you like, avoiding or changing things you do
not like, and accepting what you cannot avoid
or change by the skillful use of your viewpoint.
The use of this philosophy, as embodied in the
five rules, will allow you to test many problem
areas in your life and find solutions. With this
philosophy, you will be well on your way to
your pursuit of happiness.
Rule No 1: If You like a Thing, Enjoy It.

DSV RECORDINGS ON CD

Rule No 2: If You Dont Like a Thing, Avoid It.

We now have 33 speakers available on CD:

Rule No 3: If You Dont Like a Thing, and You

Cannot Avoid It, Change It.

The CDs from our various presentations are

available at meetings for $5 each, and are a great
idea for listening to at your leisure, giving as a gift,
or to purchase for yourself if you missed a speaker
you really wanted to hear.
