Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA
• Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), Devi Ahilya University, May 2009
BE , Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Indore, India
Degree: 82.16 %, First Class with Distinction (Rank 4/60)
Computer Skills
• Programming: Proficiency in C, Core JAVA, Assembly language(x51, ARM) * Knowledge of C++
• Operating Systems: Windows, Linux (Ubuntu, Embedded)
Courses
• Graduate: Advanced Storage Systems, Fundamentals of Embedded Systems, Computer Networks, Packet Switching
and Computer Networks, Managerial Economics, Business Management, Acting for Management
• Undergraduate: OOPS using Java, Data Structures and Algorithms using C++, Operating Systems
Internship/Certification
• Interned in Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology, Department of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India and
developed a ‘DATA GRABBER CIRCUIT’ which captured data from a RS 485 Link at the rate of 750kbaud/sec and
buffered it in a RAM so that it could be forwarded to a terminal using a circular queue.
Skills: C & 8051 Assembly programming, file handling, PC interfacing, circuit designing Term: Summer 2008
• Cisco Certified Network Associate(CCNA)
Projects
Computer Systems
• File System Checker - Created tools to identify, parse, read, and manipulate the on-disk image of a file system. The
end product of this project is a rudimentary fsck utility for the ext2 file system. It does 4 passes correcting errors in
current and parent directories, storing lost files and directories in lost+found, updating link counts of files, inode
allocation maps and block allocation maps. All 4 passes traversed the directory tree using BFS.
Skills: C programming, understanding of file systems Term: Spring 2010
• Real-Time Operating System for IntelPXA555(ARM) – Implemented an embedded multitasking RTOS kernel with
System Call API for user application, software and hardware Interrupt handlers(IRQ and SWI), Device driver(OS
Timer driver), Context Switching and Task Management, Mutex based concurrency control with Highest Locker
Priority Algorithm, Utilization Bound Test for task admission, Rate-Monotonic Scheduling.
Skills – C, ARM Assembly programming Term: Fall 2009
• Flash ‘n’ disk Hybrid Filesystem – Implemented a hybrid file system at user level that combined solid state disk with
magnetic disk to get the best of both technologies. The design was implemented using FUSE framework. Files under a
threshold size are stored in flash and remaining stored in the disk with the attribute of those files stored in flash thus
ending the need to access the disk to get a file’s attributes. Term: Spring 2010
Computer Networks
• Network Simulations–
SONET: Designed code to simulate a SONET router’s behavior and implemented UPSR and BLSR.
Queuing: Implemented FIFO, Weighted packet-by-packet round robin and Weighted Fair Queuing.
ATM Label Switching: Implemented ATM Handshaking messages and packet drop mechanisms of Tail
Drop,Random Early Drop, Partial Packet Drop and Early Packet Drop.
Constraint-based Routing: Implemented shortest path, least delay algorithms and its combination.
Skills: Java Programming Term: Fall 2009
• Network Design Coursework - Designed a WAN, performed Market research for equipment, configured add-drop
multiplexers to apply SONET and configured routers to design VPNs in MPLS. Term: Fall 2009
• Internet Relay Chat Server and Routing – Used Berkeley Sockets API to write an Internet chat server using a subset
of the Internet Relay Chat protocol (IRC).The server is capable of handling multiple client requests in a non-blocking
manner in a single process using select() system call. Implemented a dedicated routing daemon for every server.
These daemons used a routing protocol similar to OSPF to get the routing data.
Skills: C and UNIX network programming Term: Spring 2010
Achievements
• $20,000 scholarship from the Carnegie Mellon University
• Awarded two Letters of Appreciation from the Director of IET for subsequent years for work as a Coordinator
for IET Student Information System Website, www.ietdavv.org
• Voted and worked as a Company President in the Tepper School of Business- Management Game
