I prefer American conservatism over American liberalism for the most part.
Although, I do think that at least for the time being, some liberalist beliefs are necessary
in order to get this country to a place of complete equality. There are many reasons that
I prefer conservatism over liberalism. One of those reasons being that Im against
abortion. I believe that at the time of conception, a life has come into being. I believe
that harming an unborn baby is harming a lifethat terminating the life of an unborn
baby is murder. Liberals are usually pro-choice because they believe that a woman
should be able to choose what happens to her body. They believe that a fetus is not a
human being and therefore doesnt qualify for individual rights. The argument is
basically whether or not a fetus is a human being, and I believe that it is.
Another reason that I prefer conservatism over liberalism is because I believe that
war on terrorism is the best way to fight it. I believe that the confidence and safety that is
offered here is one of the greatest gifts a country can offer its people. Our military keep
us protected and allow us to live without fear. Liberals believe that if we offer peace,
peace will come in return. However, I dont think that waiting to find out how terrorists
would respond to an act of peace is worth it. The lives that could be lost as a result of
trusting terrorists to keep peace would be detrimental. I think that its better to be safe
rather than sorry on this issue.
I also prefer conservatism rather than liberalism because I agree with
conservative views on gun control, immigration, and taxes.
However, I also believe that for the time being, certain liberalist views are
necessary and need to be put into effect. For example, I think that members of the
minority in America need to be given certain opportunities that will create equality with
the dominant culture. Liberalist views on Affirmative Action are very necessary for the
time being. I think that Affirmative Action is very beneficial for this country.

I think that freedom and free competition is more important. America is the land
of opportunity, which means that anyone, despite their circumstances, can be whatever
they want to be. I think that a disadvantaged person would actually benefit more in the
end without a lot of help from the government. I think that the governments help can
often turn into enabling. However, I can definitely see the liberalist perspective on this
issue. I am someone who wants and loves to help people who are disadvantaged; but
when I think about results in the long-run, it just seems like it would breed more people
who need enabling. Even though equal opportunities for all would be extremely
beneficial in certain situations, overall, I think that it would breed a larger demand for

government help.
