Reader 2.(read each paragraph with little pause).
Lord Jesus, we have gathered here to thank you for this New Year. It is with hope and expectation
that we enter this year. May this New Year be a year of grace and blessing. Ignoring our sinfulness
and unworthiness, you have deigned to give us this year as a fresh occasion to love you and serve
you. We praise you and glorify you for your love. As we pray humbly before you, tell us what you
want us to do during this year and give us strength, courage and determination to do it.
Dear brothers and sisters, this year we plan to meditate on our Family Life. The running theme for
our Holy Hour of Adoration is Family and the Church. Today we meditate on Family: A
Nuclear Church.
The Family is ordained of God. It is the important unit in time and in eternity. Even before we were
born on earth we were part of a family. Each of us is beloved son and daughter of our Heavenly
Father. God is our Father and we lived in His presence as part of His Family. Because of Gods love
for us, He prepared a plan that included our coming on earth. This plan is called the plan of
salvation, the great plan of Happiness. As part of our heavenly Fathers plan, we were born into
families. He established families to bring us happiness, to help us learn correct principles in a
loving atmosphere, and to prepare us for eternal life.
Parents have the vital responsibility to help their children to Heavenly Father. Parents fulfill this
responsibility by teaching their children to follow Jesus Christ and live His Gospel. The Church
provides the organization and means for teaching the Gospel to all of Gods children. It provides the
priesthood authority to administer the ordinances of salvation and exaltation to all who are worthy
and willing to accept them.
St. Cyprian says No one can have God as Father who does not have the Church as Mother, which
is quoted in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, no. 181. It makes sense. St. Paul talks about the
marriage between Christ and His Church in Ephesians 5. As Christians, we are the offspring of that
marriage. We truly are children of God, and were also sons and daughters of the Church. We
become a nuclear church when we live those faith values in our Family. Family is the first and most
important to cultivate these values and promote the faith.

Let us stand and sing the hymn: (Choose an appropriate hymn)

WE ARE HAPPY CHRISTIANS
We are happy Christians
All united in the Lord
We belong to one family
Jesus Christ has chosen us
To carry on His life
Over every land and sea
From the north and from the south
And from the east and west
He has called us all together
Chorus:
And we are delighted )
That we are united
)
Into God's own family ) (2)
Now as Christians we must try
To live the Gospel life,
Living in simplicity,
We shall share the goods we have
With everyone in need,
Such is Christ like charity
We are grateful that God called us
To this way of life
In the footsteps of our Saviour.
Chorus .
Reader: Lord, how delightful it is to spend this hour with you. You are so kind and tender hearted.
We come before you with hope, seeking your mercy and blessings. O Lord of the Universe, enrich
us with your divine treasures and raise us from the bondage of sin. When anger and bitterness cloud
our mind and heart, immerse us in your divine experience. Do not let us be trapped by the passing
glories of this world, rather help us to lay up treasures in heaven and long for eternal joys.
Let us now examine our conscience and meditate about our family values.
(Silent Adoration for 5 minutes)

Let us stand and sing the Hymn (Choose an appropriate Hymn)

AS THE DEER
As the deer panteth for the water
So my soul longs after you.

And I long to worship You.

Chorus:
You alone are my strength, my shield
To You alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my hearts desire,
And I long to worship You.
I want You more than gold and silver,
Only You can satisfy
You alone are the real joy giver.
And the apple of my eye. Chorus
Youre my friend and Youre my brother,
Even Though You are a King.
I love You more than any other
So much more than anything. Chorus

Consecration of the human race to the sacred heart of Jesus

Most sweet Jesus, Redeemer of the human race, look down upon us, humbly prostrate
before Thy Altar. We are Thine and Thine we wish to be; but to be more surely united with
Thee, behold each one of us freely consecrates himself today to Thy Most Sacred Heart.
Many indeed have never known Thee; many, too despising Thy precepts, have rejected
Thee. Have mercy on them all, Most merciful Jesus, and draw them to Thy Sacred Heart.
Be Thou King, O Lord, not only of the faithful who have never forsaken Thee, but also of
the prodigal children who have abandoned Thee; grant that they may quickly return to their
Fathers house, lest they die of wretchedness and hunger.
Be Thou King of those who are deceived by erroneous opinions or whom discord keeps
aloof, and call them back to the harbour of truth and unity of faith, so that soon there may be
but one flock and one Shepherd.
Grant, O Lord, to Thy Church assurance of freedom and immunity from harm; give peace
and order to all nations, and make the earth resound from pole to pole with one cry: Praise
to the Divine Heart that wrought our salvation; to it be glory and honour forever. Amen.

To This Sacrament so great
Here is new and perfect worship

Faith must serve to compensate

Praised be Christ, His Son, our Lord
Praised be God, the Holy Spirit
Triune Godhead be adored. Amen

V:

You have given them bread from heaven.

R: Containing in itself all the sweetness.

Let us pray: O God, who in this wonderful Sacrament has left us a memorial of your
Passion, death and resurrection; grant us, we beseech You, so to reverence the sacred
mysteries of Your Body and Blood, that we may continually find in our souls the fruit
of your redemption; who lives and reigns world without end. Amen.
