who treats acute and chronic illnesses and provides preventive care and
health education to patients.
A general practitioner manages types of illness that present in an
undifferentiated way at an early stage of development, which may require
urgent intervention.[1] The holistic approach of general practice aims to take
into consideration the biological, psychological and social factors relevant to
the care of each patient's illness. Their duties are not confined to specific
organs of the body, and they have particular skills in treating people with
multiple health issues. They are trained to treat patients of any age and sex
to levels of complexity that vary between countries.
The role of a GP can vary greatly between (or even within) countries. In
urban areas of developed countries their roles tend to be narrower and
focused on the care of chronic health problems; the treatment of acute nonlife-threatening diseases; the early detection and referral to specialized care
of patients with serious diseases; and preventative care including health
education and immunization. Meanwhile, in rural areas of developed
countries or in developing countries a GP may be routinely involved in prehospital emergency care, the delivery of babies, community hospital care
and performing low-complexity surgical procedures.[2][3][4] In some healthcare
systems GPs work in primary care centers where they play a central role in
the healthcare team, while in other models of care GPs can work as singlehanded practitioners.)
He is who Chris may have become had the tragedy of the play not
intervened. Someone who is bright, ambitious, someone who
understands the world, but does nothing about it in order to pay
the bills and keep his wife. It could be argued that Miller
deliberately puts Bayliss failings on a continuum from Joe
Kellers. While Jim hasnt killed anyone, through cowardice and
inaction he hasnt done anything to change the world either; he
has killed himself. Like Keller he has not been the man he should
have been, through cowardice and inaction. What kind of example
does this set to young Tommy?
Sue Bayliss
Jim's wife Sue put her husband through
medical school, and she expects more than
gratitude in return. She blames Chris's
infectious, insinuating idealism for her
husband's interest in the fiscally unrewarding
field of medical research.

April 6, 1917 - Four days after receiving the
request from President Woodrow Wilson, the United
States Congress declares war on Germany and join
the allies in World War I.

Dad was sick and struck with anxiety and depression. Mom followed suit
It was up to me to find a way.
I met Sue and her family helped us out. They were well off because her father played
the stockmarket in some strategic way. Im sure it was crooked. Rumor had it he had
bootleg money.
Thank God for them.
Sue eventually paid my way through med school
In med school I started getting attention from girls because a man making any kind of
way through times like this looked like a God.
I didnt feel like I ever did anything only own but suffer so I picked up and left to New
Orleans, took myself off of Sues tit and truly lived like an independent man. I wanted to
make my mark in history. I studied Yellow Fever and drove myself into tunnel vision
trying to find a cure
In 1937 My son was born in Lebanon Ohio
World War 2 gave us jobs. I didnt want to serve because of my son. I still feel like a
coward. i was a medic.
Chris makes me feel like a coward. He served like man should. I served minimal
thinking of myself and my family as if other men didnt have the same thing.
