Discover the Love of Christ

February 2016

Frostproof, Florida
Pastors Remarks
Dear Church Family,
How good and how great is our God! In the midst of uncertain times we
have a certain God who is faithful and we find our hope in Him. I believe,
in these days, God is reminding us that He is in control, man has never
been and never will be. We just think that we are. Maybe God is urging us
to get our priorities in order. In these challenging days, we, as Gods people
have new opportunities to share our faith with others, as we point them to a
Savior who loves them and cares. I pray that we will be sensitive to the
hurts and needs around us, of which there are many.
One of my concerns is that we get so busy with stuff and fluff, and
some of it is good. Many times we miss out on the most important things.
In the process, we are not doing bad things, just not the best. Sometimes we
have to evaluate what we do and why we do it. For me, one of the priorities
that should never change is Bible study ministries- small groups. In our
LIFE groups, the L stands for learning the Bible, I for involvement in
the lives of others, the F stands for fellowship, and the E stands for
evangelism and outreach. It is more than a Sunday morning Bible study. It
is a 24/7/365 network of care, communication and outreach that assembles
on Sunday morning for Bible study. Its all about connecting to God and
connecting to others as we do life together. If you are not already, get
involved in a Bible study group and make it a priority.

Growing in faith together!

DISCOVER THE LOVE OF CHRIST

Hello Church Family,

January was an absolutely awesome month for the O2 Caf! During these past four
weeks in January we have raised $2000 dollars in total for the students who
served!! I want to give a very special thank you to everyone who participated in this
years caf. We could not make this camp a reality without your generous support.
This year, we will be returning to Lake Yale Baptist Conference Center for Super
Summer Camp 2016 hosted by the F lorida Baptist Convention. The price for camp for
each student is $290.00, meaning that we have fully funded at least six students camp ticket cost! This will be our eighth
year at Super Summer and we are very excited about this years camp and what God is going to do in the lives of
students.
I am also pleased to announce that, starting this Sunday, we will be beginning our second youth fundraiser of the year:
100 Envelopes! 100 Envelopes is a ver y fun, easy way to donate to the youth ministr y camp fund that ever yone
can participate in! In the foyer of the sanctuary will be a display that contains 100 envelopes, numbered 1-100. To
participate, you simply find an envelope with the dollar amount you wish to give, (ex. #20=$20.00 pledge, #37=$37.00
pledge and so on), place your gift in the envelope, deposit it into the O2 Mailbox, and write your name on the display
where you got your envelope. If every envelope is accounted for, it will COMPLETELY fund our student summer
camp goals for this year! This is really fun to do with friends, but you had better hurry, you may find your number has
already been taken!
It is also my pleasure to inform you that Winter Jam 2016 and Planet Wisdom were both amazing successes! With
terrible secular music being so prevalent in todays culture, our students were both encouraged and inspired by many of
the Christian artists who performed at Winter Jam. It never ceases to amaze me the power that worship has to influence
our spiritual walk. Also, Planet Wisdom was an amazing discipleship weekend that will have lasting implications to the
students who attended for years to come.
In closing, I would like to say a special Thank You to Treva Morrison, Doug Wise, Grace Respress, Freddie
Senterfitt and Tim Hood for all the work they put into the 02 Caf. If not for the time and effort they spent in
the kitchens and behind the scenes, the Caf would not have been possible. Thank you for your help, and
especially for putting up with me!
Keep fishing,

Bro. Brian
