PROFESSIONAL STATEMENT
Over the past eleven years, I have worked as a leader and innovator in instructional technology at
Penn State University. I am a highly motivated entrepreneur who has managed large, curricular-
based program initiatives. I have an aptitude for developing strategic initiatives that align closely
with the mission of the institution. While at Penn State I have demonstrated expertise in:

• Oversee the implementation and delivery of the college's e-learning portfolio;
including thirty-nine online and blended courses, two online programs, crossing
seven academic disciplines, offered through several university campuses,
providing more than 10,000 enrollments annually while generating more than
$1.4 million in revenue
• Oversee the day-to-day operations for the e-Learning Institute including the
management of the institute’s budget (9 FTE)
• Collaborate with deans, associate deans, and the college's academic unit heads to
develop visionary strategic goals as they relate to online instruction
• Direct the development of an open source e-Learning Management System (e-
LMS) used to streamline the design, development, and delivery of the college's e-
learning courses for faculty and design staff
• Designed a custom instructional design and development methodology used to
drive the college's e-learning efforts
• Serve on several university-wide committees focused on setting policies and
guidelines for the university's technology-based learning initiatives
• Implemented a faculty fellowship program to engage and mentor faculty in the
development of e-learning courseware
• Developed a partnership with the University of Arts London to establish a U.S.-
based international conference (Designs on e-Learning) focused on technology-
based learning in the arts and design
