Currently, I am looking to relocate to the Midwest, where I graduated from Iowa State
University with a degree in Finance in May 2007. However, I am willing to relocate to
any other part of the country as opportunities are available. As a young professional, my
goal is to find a place where I can dedicate my knowledge to help improve financial
efficiencies while improving strategic decisions.

I graduated from Lake Erie College with a MBA in May 2009. My experiences during
the MBA program have allowed me to develop strategic goals and initiatives for an
organization, while also having the capability to deliver recommendations in a
professional manner.

While working as a Payroll Accountant at STERIS, I quickly developed an understanding

for the role of my position and worked to make changes to increase efficiencies within
the position. I restructured reports and procedures that provided vague details. The
procedures which were in place could not be easily understood by another person who
may have to learn the position. In order to make the procedures understandable, I rewrote
the procedures, while adding information explaining why certain tasks were being
completed. Last fiscal year, a significant amount of funds were written off due to the lack
of paperwork to determine where the funds should be placed. These new procedures
created have prevented this from happening during the 2009 fiscal year.

My financial skills and additional knowledge from my MBA have allowed me to view
the effects of our department on the health of STERIS. While working with my manager,
I have learned how are department and other departments can save the company costs,
whether they are overhead or tax costs. Using my financial background, I have been able
to save STERIS thousands of dollars in payroll taxes by reducing our unemployment
insurance rates. Working with state and federal agencies, I have brought STERIS in
compliance with many different types of taxes. This was accomplished by having a more
visible physical paper trail of information that details how taxes have been handled. Due
to my hard-working nature and strive for success, I have also taken on additional tasks
previously completed by the payroll manager. Simultaneously, I have added additional
tasks which prevent potential issues from not being noticed until the end of the year.
These tasks have reduced the number of outstanding checks within the department and
have allowed the department to verify social security numbers on a weekly basis, rather
than an annual basis.

As an analyst in the largest business unit at STERIS, I have worked closely with
marketing managers and operations managers to develop ways to reduce operating
expenses while creating new strategies to market our products. While working with our
marketing teams, I helped analyze current and historical financial data to produce a more
strategic pricing strategy to increase our company’s market share in high level
disinfectant equipment. Other projects I have been assigned to have allowed me to create
new procedures to more efficiently track expenses while finding additional ways to
reduce those expenses with our operations teams.
