PURPOSE : This procedure is used as work instruction for TG operator , Desk

Engineer , Shift Incharge.

SCOPE : This instruction sheet explains the Normalisation and isolation of Seal Oil
Pump.

RESPONSIBILITY : TG operator , Desk Engineer , Shift Incharge.

PROCEDURE :
WHEN ANY ONE PUMP IS RUNNING AND THE OTHER PUMP WILL BE
NORMALISED
1. Clearance taken from the maintenance department.
2. Open the discharge valve partially ( For pump1 MKW11/AA051 & pump2
MKW12/AA051 for DC pump MKW13/AA051)
3. Open the constant pressure regulator re-circulation manual isolating valve ( for
pump1 MKW11/AA181, pump2 MKW12/AA181 & for DC pump MKW13/AA181)
4. Open the discharge valve fully.
5. Open the suction manual isolating valve( for pump1 MKW11/AA101 & pump2
MKW12/AA101 , for DC pump MKW13/AA101).
6. Normalized electrically.
WHEN THE SYSTEM IS IN ISOLATED CONDITION & IT WILL BE NORMALISED

1. Clearance taken from the maintenance department.

2. Ensure H2 or air pressure in generator side more than 0.1 Kg/cm2.
3. Open Vacuum pumps suction valves (MKW11/AA121 & MKW12/AA121) and
discharge valves (MKW11/AA11 & MKW12/AA11).

4. Line up seal oil vapour extraction fans.

5. Shut all the drains MKW11/AA185, MKW06/AA201 & cooler, oil filter drains also.

6. Take oil in seal oil storage tank from lube oil system.
7. Open make up valve MKW01/AA151

8. Open all pumps suction, discharge and re-circulation valves

9. Open DPT ValvesMKW39/AA301, MKW39/AA311, MKW39/AA321, MKW31/AA101,
MKW31/AA111, MKW32AA /101, MKW32/AA111, Mkw32/AA311, MKW31/AA311.
10. Line up flow meters- Open- MKW31/AA112 & MKW31/AA113 and MKW32/AA12
& MKW32/AA13
11. Normalize the seal oil pumps, vacuum pumps & vapor exhauster fans electrically
12. Start one vacuum pump and one exhauster fan
13. Start one seal oil pump
14. After proper venting shut cooler and filter vents

WHEN ONLY ONE PUMP WILL BE ISOLATED

1.First of all put on the 2nd. Pump
2.After stabilized its pressure put off the required pump which will be isolated.
3.Isolate the following manual isolating valves
a) Suction
b) Discharge
c) Constant pressure regulating re circulation valve.
4. Isolate the pump motor electrically.
