Market Commentary

Market Indices

The Muscat Securities Market climbed up today; the

main index was increased by 100 points to close at
5,398.47 points. The Financial index was best
performer amongst market indices, furthermore the
Industrial index increased by 1.45%. Among the
gainers, UECS was top gainer of the day. Amongst other
gainers, OEIO, RNSS, SIHC & GISI increased by 7.4%,
6.9%, 6.3% and 5.3% respectively, while BKSB, BKNZ,
OIFC & OFCI improved by 4.5%, 4.1%, 3.6% and 3.5%
respectively. In addition; GECS, BKMB, AAIT & PHPC
were closed up by 3.2%, 3.17%, 2.3% and 0.7%
respectively. Amongst losers, DIDI was top loser of the
day. Amongst other losers ATMI was corrected by 1.9%,
while AJSS declined by 0.4%. However, ORXL & MFCI
remained unchanged today. The most active volumes
traded were: AAIT (6.5 mn shares) and OFCI (4.1 mn
shares). The Market turnover was improved to RO 7.32
mn as compared to RO 4.38 mn seen yesterday. The
market breadth was in favor for advances. Out of 47
stocks traded, 38 advanced, 4 declined and 5 remained
unchanged. The Omani investors were net buyers, while
the foreign investors were net sellers today.
Al Maha Ceramics-AMCI has recommended 35% Cash
Dividend for the year ended on December 31, 2015. The
AGM is scheduled on March 21, 2016.
United Power-UECS has recommended a Cash
Dividend of 50% (500 Bz/Sh) to Ordinary shareholders
and 54.5% (545 Bz/Sh) to Preference shareholders.
