Hex Head Capscrews

The Property Class 10.9 and 8.8 Capscrews are produced to meet the chemical and mechanical requirements
of ISO 898/I, ASTM F568, and SAE J1199. We have also produced metric capscrews to Property Class 9.8
and 12.9. Dimensions are per ANSI B18.2.3.1M, which is basically identical to ISO 4014/4017 and
DIN 931/933. The capscrews are designed to hit the dimensions of all three specification series except for M10,
M12, and M14. The width-across-flats is 1mm larger for DIN than for ANSI or ISO in these three sizes. DIN
931/933 is a withdrawn German specification. The last revision, in 1987, stated that It is intended to withdraw the present standard by 1 July 1992 at the latest. There is still a considerable customer demand for product to DIN 931/933, however. Therefore, we offer M10 through M14 with head dimensions (width-across-flats)
to either ANSI/ISO or to DIN. Nucor Fastener Division is QS9000 and ISO9002 Registered, and our laboratory is A2LA Accredited. Our capscrews are 100% made in the U.S.A. They are formed on precision high-speed
coldformers, utilizing in-process quality systems, and have full traceability from raw material to each container
of fasteners. Chemical and physical certifications are available.

Structural Bolts
Metric Structural Bolts are made to the requirements of ASTM A325M. The ASTM A325M Bolt is equivalent to
the properties of an ASTM F568 Class 8.8 Bolt. These properties are essentially identical to Class 8.8 in ISO
898/I. Surface discontinuity limits are specified in ANSI B18.2.3.7M. The threads are rolled as specified in
ANSI B1.13M, to a metric coarse thread with Grade 6g tolerance.

Structural Nuts
The nuts are covered by ASTM A563M. The 10S Nut is listed as a suitable nut for an ASTM A325M Bolt (8S
is recommended for non-plated parts, but a higher class nut is also suitable). The nuts are made to the Heavy
Hex dimensions of ANSI B18.2.4.6M. The threads are cut per the metric coarse thread series as specified in
ANSI B1.13M (with Grade 6g tolerances). Surface discontinuities are covered in ASTM F812/F812M.
