B 40

Non Shrink Free Flowing Cementitious Micro Concrete

DESCRIPTION

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES

CONDITIONS OF SALE

B 40 is a blend of dry powder which requires

only addition of clean water at site. It is used to
repair large structural section of concrete and
corrosion damage concrete.

B 40

Sold subject to the Company's conditions

of sale which are available on request.

USE

Compressive Strength

Repairing damaged concrete.

Columns and cross beams on structures.
Below ground constructions.
Foundation support and retaining walls.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

The surface should be sound and free of dust,

grease, oil and other surface contamination.
Damaged floor should be abraded (wire brush,
angle grinder etc.) to remove contamination
and expose a clean surface to ensure good
adhesion.

Add 3.75 - 3.90 litres of clean water in a mixing

container, then add 25kg of B 40 powder to
the same container and mix for 2 - 3 minutes
thoroughly using a heavy duty spiral drill
machine until lump free and slump resistant
mortar is obtained.

APPLICATION

Pour the mixed mortar on prepared surface.

The mixed material should be poured within
25 minutes to get the fluidity. The application
thickness is 20 - 200mm.
The form work should be rigid and tight to
prevent loss of materials and have properly
sealed face to ensure that no water is leaked
out. The form work should include drainage
outlets for pre-soaking and if beneath a soffit,
provision for air venting. Provision must also be
made for suitable access points to pour or
pump the mixed B 40 into place. Form work
can be removed after 24 hours for vertical
application and after 3 days for against gravity
application.
CLEANING

B 40 can be removed from tools and

equipment by washing in clean water
immediately after use. Any hardened material
will need to be removed mechanically.
CURING

On completion of the application exposed areas

should be thoroughly cured. All exposed faces
of the repair should be thoroughly soaked with
clean water or sprayed with a liquid curing
membrane such as ARDEX ENDURA C 20 or
water curing shall be carried out for 28 days.
Any delay in starting the curing process after
the form work is stripped will adversely affect
the performance of the product.

MIXING

NOTE: For large repair areas or multiple bags

mixing a forced action mechanical mixer should
be used.

NOTE

COVERAGE ESTIMATES

Pack size
25kg
YIELD

The approximate yield per 25kg bag + 3.9 litres

of water is 12 litres
NOTE: These figures are theoretical, due to the wastages and
the variety / nature of substrates practical coverage figures
may be reduced.

STORAGE AND SHELF LIFE

B 40 must be stored in unopened packaging,

clear of the ground in cool dry conditions and
be protected from excessive draught. If stored
correctly, as detailed above, the shelf life of this
product is 6 months from the date shown on
the packaging.
PRECAUTIONS

B 40 is considered non-hazardous in normal

usage. The presence of cement in the product
gives an alkaline mortar which may cause some
local irritation if prolonged contact with the skin
takes place. Care should be taken to avoid
inhalation or ingestion of dust and prevent
contact with the eyes.
DISPOSAL/SPILLAGE

Spillage of any of the component products

should be absorbed onto sand or other inert
materials and transferred to a suitable
