Dear Parents/Guardians:
Performing with excellence on the SOLs requires critical problem-solving skills and synthesis of required essential
knowledge, skills, and processes. In an effort to ensure that our students perform at optimal levels, the Lindsay
instructional staff and the administrative team have identified students that would truly benefit from attending Saturday
School to receive additional support in their core classes (Math, Language Arts, Social Studies, Science 8 and Spanish
(7th/8th)) to increase student performance in these areas. Your child has been selected to receive additional support based
on one or more of the following criteria: (1) Teacher recommendations based on observations and assessment
performance (2) Currently failing or having a D/F average in core classes (3) 1st Quarter and 2nd Quarter Benchmark
Scores, and/or (4) Identification as a reading or mathematics recovery student based on SOL scores from the 2014-15
school year.
Transportation will be provided with completed registration below. Your child must attend all sessions - attendance
is MANDATORY, sessions are from 9am 11am. The dates for Saturday School are identified below:
February 20 and 27
March 5, 12, 19 and 26

April 16, 23, and 30

May 7

Spanish I will be offered on the following days:

February 27, March 12, 26, April 23 and May 7
Please have your child submit the registration below to their homeroom teacher on or before Tuesday, February 9th. It is
imperative that your child attends Saturday School to receive the additional instructional support and resources needed
to be successful on his or her grade level SOL. We know that with your support, we will be aligned with our school-wide
vision in empowering all students to succeed and encouraging lifelong learning. We thank you for your commitment to
