This Settlement Agreement and Release of all Claims (hereafter "Agreement") is entered
into by Linda Yankee and Multnomah County Sheriff Daniel Staton.
WHEREAS Yankee and the Multnomah County Sheriff have substantial differences and
disagreements; and
V/HEREAS Yankee has provided a notice of tort claim to Multnomah County containing
various allegations; and
WHEREAS the Multnomah County Sheriff denies and disputes the assertions in Yankee's
notice of tort claim; and
V/HEREAS Yankee and the Multnomah County Sheriff have agreed to resolve Yankee's
employment and any issues arising out of her employment while disagreeing about the validity of
the notice of tort claim,
NOW THEREFORE, the parties agree as follows:

The Multnomah County Sheriff s Office ("MCSO") agrees to pay Yankee's lawyer, Sean
Riddell, attorney's fees is the amount of $12,000. The payrnent will be made to Mr.
Riddell within 10 business days from the date this Agreement is fully signed and
executed by the parties.

and will retire with that rank.

Yankee will receive apay increase from her current salary of $146, 019.25 to
$150.431.10, retroactive to July 1,2015.
Yankee will receive the full cost of living increase available to employees of the County
until her retirement on or before June 1,2017. During the remainder of her employment,
Yankee will also receive the same percentage of merit increase as other members of the
MCSO command staff or a minimum of two percent, whichever is higher. Yankee's
future merit increases are subject to the limitations of the classification range for the
Chief Deputy position and Oregon law regarding salary limits for Sheriff employees.

The Multnomah County Office of Human Resources will provide the following
information regarding Yankee: Date of hire, positions held, date of retirement, and
salary. All inquiries regarding Yankee should be directed to the Multnomah County
Office of Human Resources.

As a continuing MCSO employee, Yankee will be subject to all personnel rules and other
applicable rules and regulations for County employees, including, but not limited to,
leave use and accrual. Yankee will also continue to be subject to all rules and orders that
govem County employees working in the MCSO.

mutually release one another (including but not limited to the County and the MSCO, past
and present, the County's elected officials, executives, managers, supervisors and
employees) from any and all claims and causes of action of any kind or nature
whatsoever, known or unknown, suspected or unsuspected, which are now claimed, or
which could have been claimed at any time before the execution of this Agreement,
including but not limited to any and all claims arising out of Yankee's work for thp
MCSO.
