BULLETIN OVERVIEW

Launching FOS Element Manager (Web Tools) from within DCFM may fail and report a
Java Webstart error.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

If the FOS Element Manager is launched from within DCFM, a Java Webstart error is
Reported as com.sun.deploy.net.FailedDownloadException: Unable to load resource:
RISK ASSESSMENT

Web Tools may not launch when using the launch points within DCFM.
SYMPTO MS

A Java Webstart dialog is displayed

Details table will contain the error message similar to a Java Webstart error is
Reported as com.sun.deploy.net.FailedDownloadException: Unable to load resource:
Jar file sizes will keep changing (keep downloading) <DCFM Home>\webstart\webtools\
<WT opening switch FOS version> directory.
WORKAROUND

The workaround is to launch Web Tools directly from a browser outside of DCFM. The
user will lose Single Sign-On as well as proxying Web Tools HTTP traffic through the
DCFM Server when launching Web Tools from a browser outside of DCFM.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

An updated jar wtproxy.jar' has the fix for this issue and instructions to use the jar file are
provided in a file named DCFMUpdateInstructions.pdf.
