Central Council of Homoeopathy with support of Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of


India organized a three day National Seminar on Homeopathy to mark its 40 th
Anniversary of its constitution & in service to the country on 8 th to 11th January
2016 at Siri Fort Auditorium, New Delhi. More than 2000 delegate from teaching
faculty of 195 homoeopathic medical colleges & some doctors from SAARC
countries participated in the seminar .
National Seminar on Homeopathy was inaugurated by The Minister of State for
AYUSH (Independent Charge) and Health and Family Welfare, Shri Shripad Yesso
Naik & he appreciated the participation of homeopathic doctors in the seminar in
such large numbers. Shri Shripad Naik assured the Council that Post Graduate in

Homoeopathy will be introduced in more subjects like anatomy, physiology and


others as demanded by the homoeopathic colleges. AYUSH systems should try
hard to get more popular so that their benefits reach the common man and all parts
of the country, the Minister added.
Shri Shripad Naik also said that Indian homoeopaths face legal difficulties in
practicing outside India. He asked the Central Council and other agencies of
AYUSH to work on reciprocity in this issue with friendly countries so that
homoeopathic practitioners from India can go and practice there without any legal
hurdle.
The Minister also said that our efforts should be to take Homoeopathy to each and
every house for which Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy should
develop new models to popularize homoeopathy like the national programme of
homoeopathy treatment for mother and child diseases.
Secretary AYUSH, Shri Ajit Mohan Saran stressed on integration of homoeopathy
with modern systems of medicine. He suggested training programme for MBBS
doctors so that they can be allowed to practice homoeopathy within India. Such
programmes can be developed on pattern of M.F.Hom in London. Secretary,
AYUSH stressed the need of good homoeopathic colleges to impart quality
education in homeopathy.
Member of Lok Sabha, Dr Manoj Rajooria, who was also present on the occasion,
said that private homoeopathic medical colleges must pay salaries to their teaching
staff equal to salaries given by state Governments to their teaching staff in
government homoeopathic medical colleges. He advised CCH to propose some
guidelines on this issue in guidelines related to recognition of homoeopathic
colleges by CCH and State governments.
He also suggested that Homoeopathic dispensaries should be opened at Panchayat
and Block levels so that there is more job opportunity for homoeopathic doctors.
President CCH, Dr Ramjee Singh said that this is the first of its kind seminar
where more than 2000 delegates are participating only from teaching faculty of
195 homoeopathic medical colleges.
Joint secretary, Dr Anil Kumar Ganeriwala also spoke during the inaugural session.
He appreciated the number of participation by teaching faculty of various
homoeopathic colleges.
Dr Arun Bhasme , Vice president ; Dr A.K.Seth , convener subcommittee National
Homoeopathic seminar ; Dr Lalit Verma , Secretary CCH were also present at the

inaugural session.
Scientific session started with Vision for Homoeopathic Education at PG level for
community services by Dr Rajat Chattopadhyay. He said that each student of
homoeopathy are being exposed to community services during internship period.
PG students has go to through the subject like research methodology and statistics.
PG homoeopathic medical education should have more focus on early screening
and management of the diseases by their innovative education technique based on
homoeopathic philosophy. PG education focusing on community health can show
their usefulness to improve the future of the nation with all its socio economic
bindings.
Dr Arvind Kothe spoke on Homoeopathic Education at UG level for
community services. He said undergraduate curriculam has all the pre, para &
clinical subjects like modern medicine, except pharmacology. The course content
of the subject community medicine has topic Nutrition & Health, Environment &
health, water, preventive medicine in paediatrics and Geriatrics, hospital
management, disaster management, mother & child health and so on. The Dept. of
community medicine, under the faculty of Homoeopathy should focus on
preventive aspects & take up issues of health education, school health services, and
National Health programs.
Dr M P Arya spoke on Vision 2030 for Homoeopathic education, Research
and Devlopment in India. He said success in this objective requires convergence
of talented & creative students with excellent faculty mentors. CCH has to take
bold steps in developmental process and try to achieve Goal in next 10 years.
Dr Nandini Sharma, spoke on Introduction to Medical Ethics. She said
Homoeopathic medical profession is guided by code of ethics which are
formulated by CCH, which has to be followed by members of medical profession.
Dr Chaturbhuja Nayak spoke on Informed consent: an ethical issue in
Homoeopathy research He said informed consent is a process in which the study
subject gives willingness to participate in the research project. Ethical committee
need to ensure ethical guidelines being followed , including protection of
participant rights.
Human rights and Homoeopathy by Dr. L M Khan. He said medical art is having
three royal avenues including clinical practice, research and education. This is now

high time for us to think, plan & act upon these points but this can only be possible
when all the stake holders come together.
Education in homoeopathy: issues & challenges by Dr. Ramjee Singh. He said
objectives for new system in medicine was to provide a high value of clinical
discoveries but also recommendation for the testing of substance on healthy human
being.

seminar :
An overview of PG & UG regulations presented by Dr Jose Issac.
Support of Hospital faculty in imparting clinical teaching & training presented by
Dr Kulwant Singh. Need for development of teaching faculty and coordination of
different cadres of teaching faculty presented by Dr A K Seth.
Adaptation of question patterns and Assessment presented by Dr V K Vimal.
Assesment programme for training in homoeopathy by Dr. Niranjan Mohanty
Teaching in materialism & dynamism required in perspective of homoeopathy
presented by Dr. M K Sahani.
Development of bed side skill presented by Dr. Girish Gupta.
Vision for incorporation of research linked homoeopathic education presented by
Dr. R K Manchanda.
Development of research aptitude among teaching faculty in homoeopathy
prsented by Dr. Biplab kumar Kundu.
Encouragement on research aptitude for UG students in homoeopathy presented
by Dr. Anil Khurana.
Awareness on code of conduct regulation presented by Dr. S Debnath.
Clinical Establishment act Vis-a- Vis homoeopathy presented by Dr B T Rudresh.
Limitations of homoeopathic practitioners in following the code of conduct
regulations presented by Dr .Subhas Singh.
Homoeopathic pharmacopoeia of India critical review presented by Dr D S
Bhar.
Good manufacturing practices- a need to assure quality prsented by Dr Prakash

National Seminar on Homeopathy provided an opportunity to participants to
deliberate on issues of relevance to public & individual health.
Main issues regarding the Development of homoeopathy , Treatment , Quality
control, Research aptitude, Medical Ethics, Homoeopathic education, Research and
Development in India had been discussed during the different sessions of the
seminar in depth and detail. Discussion on health , education and practice will help
in bringing further improved standards in education and practice of homoeopathy.
