and discuss the key features of obligations of coastal states in this regard.

Q9. (a) Discuss G-8 Vs G-9 standards for Ballast Water Treatment (BWT)
systems and explain the principle features of any G-9 approved treatment
system.
(b) You are required to have an existing ship retrofitted with BWT
system. Briefly describe the technical challenges you anticipate and the
possible technical options before you.
