An overview of Job Profiles @ S.P.I.T.

Its a must criteria that all those preparing for placements must be
aware of the job profiles that are available from the companies visiting our
campus.Many a times we differentiate companies just on the basis of the
salary that they provide or by the job location rather than searching on what
technology you will be involved with when hired by that firm.(One of the best
way to get to know about different firms in a better way would be to be in
contact wid ur seniors working in ur wishlist firms.so respect ur seniors
folks :P or they myt irritate u later )
So,basically the job profiles offered here are based on three different
fields:
1.Software based(which has lots of subcategories in it.)
2.Data Analytics/Business Intelligence
3.Electronics

1. Software

Here the job is more related to coding in various languages(c or object


oriented).

2. Data Analytics/Business Intelligence


Here the job is more with data analysis, statistics and probability. These use
less of programming languages like c++, java but have their own softwares
for the job. This has been a very much booming field in the recent years. You
will need to search more to get a basic idea of the job. The profile offered will
be of Business Analyst or Decision Scientist
Companies visiting: EXL Services, MuSigma ,Fractal Analysis(This one is off
campus-so u need to stay in touch with this companys hiring events)

3.Electronics:
U people must hv observed or heard that there not much jobs in this field for
our students. This is NOT because SPIT doesnt deserve to have these firms
but mostly bcoz we just learn to accept what is being offered. What we
realized(though late ) was that if we could create a database of such firms
and den thru the TPCs contact them requesting them to visit our campus
then we cud get a better response.We CANNOT burden the TPCs wid all
these work. If you indeed want to work with an ETRX firm then it IS also ur
responsibility to help the TPCs in this work. Together u guys cud indeed
change the scenario of our college for the ahead years. It wud be a request
to start wid this work ryt from ur mid sixth semester.
Companies visiting:LnT Core , Mitsubishi , Johnson Controls

Our earnest request wud be to pls not select ur firms just based on the
payscale and location rather than ur interests. WeI agree that on that stage it
is very difficult to realize ur interests but plss do gv a try in searchg abt the
jobs ,companies interact lots wid ur seniors
All these wud help you in deciding ur Dream Company
