INTRODUCTORY ADDRESS

Presider:

Matt and Karen, you have come together in this

church so that the Lord may seal and strengthen
your love in the presence of the Churchs
minister and this community. Christ abundantly
blesses this love. He has already consecrated
you in baptism and now He enriches and
strengthens you by a special sacrament of
mutual and lasting fidelity. And so, in the
presence of the church, I ask you to state your
intentions.

STATEMENT OF INTENTIONS
Presider:

Matt and Karen, have you come here freely and

without reservation to give yourselves to each
other in marriage?

Groom:
Bride:

I have.
I have.

Presider:

Will you love and honor each other as husband

and wife for the rest of your lives?

Bride:

support this coupe as husband and wife,
through your prayer and encouragement?
ALL:

We have.

COLLECT
Presider:

Let us pray, o God, who in creating the human

race willed that husband and wife should be
one, join, we pray, in a bond of inseparable love
these servants who are to be united in the
covenant of marriage, so that, as you make their
love fruitful, they may become, by Your grace,
witnesses to charity itself through Christ our
Lord.

All:

Amen

Presider:

Please be seated.

LITURGY OF THE WORD

First Reading
Milena Oliveira
A reading from the book of Jeremiah
See, this is the covenant I will make with the
house of Israel. I will place my law within them,
and write it upon their hearts; I will be their God,
and they shall be my people. They will no longer
teach their friends and relatives, Know the
Lord! everyone, from least to greatest, shall
know me.
The word of the Lord.
All:

Thanks be to God.

Responsorial Psalm
Geysa Abud
Organist
Blest are those who love you, happy those that
follow you, blest are those that seek you, O
God.
All:

Blest are those who love you, happy those

that follow you, blest are those that seek
you, O God.
Happy all those who fear the Lord, and walk in
Gods pathway, you will find what you long for;
the riches of our God.

All:

Blest are those who love you, happy those

that follow you, blest are those that seek
you, O God.
Your spouse shall be like a fruitful vine in the
midst of your home, your children flourish like
olive plants rejoicing at your table.

All:

Blest are those who love you, happy those

that follow you, blest are those that seek
you, O God.
May the blessings of God be yours all the days
of your life, may the peace of the love of God
live always in your heart.

All:

Blest are those who love you, happy those

that follow you, blest are those that seek
you, O God.

Second Reading
Melissa Westmeyer
A reading from the letter of St Paul to the
Colossians
Put on then, as Gods chosen ones, holy and
beloved, heartfelt, compassion, kindness,
humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with
one another and forgiving one another. If one
has a grievance against another, as the Lord
has forgiven you, so must you also do. And over
all these put on love, that is, the bond of
perfection and let the peace of Christ control
your hearts, the peace into which you were also
called in one body and always be thankful!
The word of the lord.
All:

Thanks be to God.

Presider:

Please stand

Gospel Acclamation
Geysa Abud
Organist
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.
All:

The word of the Lord is alive, the word of God is
active it can judge our thoughts; bring us closer
to the Father.

All:

Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.

Gospel
Presider
A reading from the holy gospel according to
John
Jesus said to his disciples:
Remain in me, as I in you. Just as a branch
cannot bear fruit on its own unless it remains on
the vine, so neither can you unless you remain
in me. I am the vine, you are the branches.
Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear
much fruit, because without me you can do
nothing. If you remain in me and my words
remain in you, ask for whatever you want and it
will be done for you. As the Father loves me, so
I also love you. Remain in my love. This is my
commandment. Love one another as I love you.
The gospel of the Lord
All:

Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ

Please be seated.

RITE OF MARRIAGE
Declaration of Consent
Presider:

Since it is your intention to enter into marriage,

join your right hands, and declare your consent
before God and His church.

Groom:

I, Matthew, take you, Karen, to be my wife. I

promise to be true to you in good time and in
bad, in sickness and in health. I will love you
and honor you all the days of my life.

Bride:

I, Karen, take you, Matthew, to be my

husband. I promise to be true to you in good
time and in bad, in sickness and in health. I
will love you and honor you all the days of
my life.

Presider:

You have declared your consent before the

church. May the Lord in his goodness
strengthen your consent and fill you both with
his blessings.
What God has joined, no one must divide.

Blessing and Exchange of Rings

Presider:

Lord, bless and consecrate Matt and Karen in

their love for each other. May these rings be a
symbol of true faith in each other, and always
remind them of their love.
Through Christ our Lord.

All:

Amen.

Groom:

Karen, take this ring as a sign of my love and

fidelity. In the name of the Father, and of the
Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Bride:

Matt, take this ring as a sign of my love and

fidelity. In the name of the Father, and of the
Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Nuptial Blessing
Presider: Let us humbly invoke by our prayers, dear brothers
and sisters, Gods blessing upon this bride and
groom, that in his kindness he may favor with his
help those on whom he has bestowed the Sacrament
of Matrimony.
Holy Father, maker of the whole world, who created
man and woman in your own image and willed that
their union be crowned with your blessing, we humbly
beseech you for these your servants, who are joined
today in the Sacrament of Matrimony.
May your abundant blessing, Lord, come down upon
this bride, Karen, and upon Matthew, her companion
for life, and may the power of your Holy Spirit set
their hearts aflame from on high, so that, living out
together the gift of Matrimony, they may adorn their
family with children and enrich the Church.
In happiness may they praise you, O Lord, in sorrow
may they seek you out; may they have the joy of your
presence to assist them in their toil, and know that
you are near to comfort them in their need; let them
pray to you in the holy assembly and bear witness to
you in the world, and after a happy old age, together
with the circle of friends that surrounds them, may
they come to the Kingdom of Heaven.
Through Christ our Lord.
All:

Amen.

Prayer over the Gifts
Presider:

Receive in Your kindness, Lord, the offerings we

bring in gladness before you, and in Your
Fatherly love. Watch over those you have joined
in a sacramental covenant.
Through Christ our Lord.

All:

Preface
Presider:
All:

The Lord be with you.

And with your spirit

Presider:
All:

Lift up your hearts

We lift them up to the Lord

Presider:
All:

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God

It is right and just

Presider:

It is truly right and just, our duty and our

salvation, always and everywhere to give you
thanks, Lord, Holy Father, almighty and eternal
God, for you willed that the human race created
by the gift of your goodness, should be raised to
such high dignity that in the union of husband
and wife you might bestow a true image of Your
love.
For those you created out of charity you call to
the law of charity without ceasing and grant
them a share in your eternal charity. And so, the
Sacrament of Holy Matrimony, as the abiding
sign of your own love, consecrated the love of
man and woman, through Christ our Lord.
Through Him, with angels and all the saints, we
sing the hymn of your praise, as without end we
acclaim:

Geysa Abud
Organist
All:

Holy, holy, holy Lord God of hosts. Heaven

and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in
the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the
name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.
Hosanna in the highest.

Eucharistic Prayer
Presider:

You are indeed Holy, O Lord, the fount of all

holiness. Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we
pray, by sending down your Spirit upon them like
the dewfall, so that they may become for us the
Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
At the time he was betrayed and entered
willingly into his Passion, he took bread and,
giving thanks, broke it, and gave it to his
disciples, saying:
TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND EAT OF IT,
FOR THIS IS MY BODY, WHICH WILL BE
GIVEN UP FOR YOU.
In a similar way, when supper was ended, he
took the chalice and, once more giving thanks,
he gave it to his disciples, saying:
TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND DRINK FROM
IT, FOR THIS IS THE CHALICE OF MY
BLOOD, HE BLOOD OF THE NEW AND
ETERNAL COVENANT, WHICH WILL BE
POURED OUT FOR YOU AND FOR MANY
FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS. DO THIS
IN MEMORY OF ME.
The mystery of faith. (sung)

Geysa Abud
Organist
All:

When we eat this bread and drink this cup,

we proclaim your death, O Lord, until you
come again.

Presider:

Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his

Death and Resurrection, we offer you, Lord, the
Bread of life and the Chalice of salvation, giving
thanks that you have held us worthy to be in
your presence and minister to you. Humbly we
pray that, partaking of the Body and Blood of
Christ, we may be gathered into one by the Holy
Spirit.
Remember, Lord, your Church, spread
throughout the world, and bring her to the
fullness of charity, together with Francis, our
Pope and Antonio Francisco, our Bishop and all
the clergy.
Remember also our brothers and sisters who
have fallen asleep in the hope of the
resurrection, and all who have died in your
mercy: welcome them into the light of your face.
Have mercy on us all, we pray, that with the
Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, with the
blessed Apostles, and all the Saints who have
pleased you throughout the ages, we may merit
to be coheirs to eternal life, and may praise and
glorify you through your Son, Jesus Christ.

Presider:

(He takes the chalice and the paten with the

host and, raising both, he says)
Through him, and with him, and in him, O God,
almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all
glory and honor is yours, forever and ever.

Geysa Abud
Organist
All:

Amen, amen, amen

Presider:

At the Saviors command and formed by divine

teaching, we dare to say:

All:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be

thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be
done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this
day our daily bread, and forgive us our
trespasses, as we forgive those who
trespass against us; and lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Presider:

Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil,

graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the
help of your mercy, we may be always free from
sin and safe from all distress, as we await the
blessed hope and the coming of our Savior,
Jesus Christ.

All:

For the kingdom, the power and the glory are

yours now and forever.

Presider:

Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your Apostles:

Peace I leave you, my peace I give you; look not
on our sins, but on the faith of your Church, and
graciously grant her peace and unity in
accordance with your will. Who live and reign
forever and ever.

All:

Amen.

Presider:

The peace of the Lord be with you always.

All:

And with your spirit.

Presider:

Let us offer each other the sign of peace.

Geysa Abud
Organist
All:

Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the

world, have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you
take away the sins of the world, have mercy
on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sins
of the world, grant us peace.

Presider:

(With hands joined, quietly)

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, who,
by the will of the Father and the work of the Holy
Spirit, through your Death gave life to the world,
free me by this, your most holy Body and Blood,
from all my sins and from every evil; keep me
always faithful to your commandments, and
never let me be parted from you.
(The Priest genuflects, takes the host and,
holding it slightly raised above the paten or
above the chalice, while facing the people, says
aloud)
Behold the Lamb of God; behold him who takes
away the sins of the world. Blessed are those
called to the supper of the Lamb.

All:

Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter

under my roof, but only say the word and my
soul shall be healed.

Presider:

(The Priest, facing the altar, says quietly)

May the Body of Christ keep me safe for eternal
life. May the Blood of Christ keep me safe for
eternal life.
(To each of the communicants, he says)
The Body of Christ.
The Blood of Christ

Individuals:

Amen.

Communion Song
Geysa Abud Here I Am, Lord by Dan Schutte
Organist
All:

I, the Lord of sea and sky, I have heard my

people cry. All who dwell in dark and sin, my
hand will save. I who made the stars of
nights, I will make their darkness bright.
Who will bear my light to them? Whom shall
I send?
Here I am Lord, is it I Lord? I have heard you
calling in the night. I will go Lord, if you lead
me. I will hold your people in my heart.
I, the Lord of snow and rain, I have born My
peoples pain. I have wept for love of them,
they turn away. I will break their hearts of
stone; give them heats for love alone. I will
speak my word to them, whom shall I send?
Here I am Lord, is it I Lord? I have heard you
calling in the night. I will go Lord, if you lead
me. I will hold your people in my heart.
I, the Lord of wind and flame, I will tend the
poor and lame. I will set a feast fro them, my
hand will save. Finest bread I will provide, till
their hearts be satisfied. I will give my life to
them, whom shall I send?
Here I am Lord, is it I Lord? I have heard you
calling in the night. I will go Lord, if you lead
me. I will hold your people in my heart.
