Art
Art is culture. Many things are forgotten historically, but art lasts. Why do you think people from all over
the world will travel to the Louvre in France to see a painting by Michelangelo? Art lasts, and art defines
culture. Not just painting, but literature, sculpture, music. Shakespeare will be remembered for all time, as
will Beethoven. Art transcends rulers and the fashion and minutiae of the times. It is a language all on its
own, that anyone can understand, it needs no translation. Art defines us.
Art has been a part of our life for as long as humanity has existed. For thousands of years people have
been creating, looking at, criticizing, and enjoying art. I would like to address three questions: what is art,
what is its purpose, and why has it survived for this long.
First, what is art? Humanity has faced this question for many centuries. How can we distinguish between
fine art and a beautiful poster? How can we call both Malevichs Black Square and Da Vincis La
Joconde art, yet not include some peoples paintings into this category? I believe that the only things that
distinguish these works are the artist and the artists objective. The connection between what the artist
means to achieve and what he achieves through the medium is what I believe classifies art. If what the
artist meant to say is understood by at least one person in this world, when we can safely call that piece
art. What classifies a masterpiece, however, is when not only one person understands what the artist was
trying to say with the piece but when the majority does. Many people believe that the fine arts are elitist.

In this way, it is very true that a film or a play will never evoke as much personal, internal imagery as a
painting or a book. Now, if you would accept my definition of art and masterpiece then these cave
paintings would classify as both since everyone knew that this was beautiful (and they are still today
accepted as works of art) and they got the message across perfectly, even to people of other cultures and
completely different times. A painting or a book leaves room for the onlookers imagination. Whether the
artist is trying to communicate an emotion, an idea or something else, the most important thing is how
well the audience receives it. They also allow one to make up a beginning or an end to the otherwise
unfinished story that is a book or a painting. However, I do not believe that is the most important purpose
of art. I believe that we, quite often, overestimate the artist, or mistake him for a philosopher. However, we
also must not forget about the simple joys of art. However, art can also be shocking, something new.
What is the purpose of art? Art has some very practical purposes. They are depictions of animals and
feature prominent themes in the ancient mans culture: such things as hunting, reproduction, and many
other everyday activities. In Wintersons Art Objects, she claims, the author is the vehicle of
transformation .
Why has art survived as long as humanity? Winterson states that there is evidence that the ancient
humans had art as part of their culture.

Business and money

Starting a business is never easy. Nonetheless, it is an opportunity for one to grab. It should be
evaluated and analyzed carefully before any major decisions are being made. One of the most
important considerations is money.
A certain saying goes, "Money makes the world go round". Money is seen as a safety barrier not
only to businesses, but to the well-being of individuals too. This can be seen across the stages of the
business lifecycle. Be it the early stage of low or high growth, companies will need to have reliable
access to money to fuel innovation and sustain their growth (Hamilton, B.A, 2011). However, it takes
more than just being financially stable to become an entrepreneur.
Yes, it is true that some businesses are more capital intensive, where money is needed for
equipment, land, inventory and wages. In reality however, anyone can be an entrepreneur with just a
click of the mouse and without the additional stress (Dykeman, M, 2010). Advances in

The Internet has transformed the global business environment (Dutta and Osorio, 2012). For the
cost of an Internet access, a computer, a domain and the right attitude as well as knowledge, anyone
can be his or her own boss. With the existence and constant improvement of technology, the barriers
to entry of a business startup is nearly non-existent (Dykeman, M, 2010)! Therefore, I disagree that
only money is needed for one to become an entrepreneur. Despite the importance of money, it is not
a sufficient reason for an entrepreneur to start up a new business, as there are many other reasons
and factors that will drive one towards entrepreneurship.
Nobody starts up a business without any goal in mind. Any business idea will start out from a dream.
Every successful entrepreneur needs to be as curious as a cat and dream big (Brown, 2008)!
Dreams are often thought about as people with their heads in the clouds, but they are there to
motivate and see one's business journey from the start to the end (Brown, 2008). Great business
ideas can be further developed into great businesses or they fail due to unfavorable circumstances
(Mariotti and Glackin, 2010). Through shaping and cultivating, the dream becomes a motivator for
one to take risks as well as sacrifice time and energy to ensure the business succeeds.
Mrs. Fields for example, is a living description of a business starting out with just a dream. At 20
years of age, Debbie Fields only had with her a great chocolate chip cookie recipe and a dream. Her
determination to make the freshest and finest oven cookie led to Mrs. Fields Cookies becoming one
of the world's most exuberant franchises, with more than 600 stores in more than 10 countries
worldwide (Mrs Fields, 2012).
Nevertheless, it also takes a good business plan to start off as an entrepreneur. A business plan is a
guide to determine the viability of the business on paper, before bringing it to the real world where
mistakes and risks are unavoidable (Sahlman, 1997). Having a business plan allows one to analyse
markets and opportunities in realistic terms before attempting to secure financing to further develop
the business (Mariotti and Glackin, 2010). This is further emphasized by Mancuso (1985),
"If your proposed venture is marginal at best, the business plan will show you why and may help you
to avoid paying the high tuition of business failure. It is far cheaper not to begin an ill-fated business
than to learn by experience what your business plan could have taught you at a cost of several
hours of concentrated work".
With a good business plan, one should only worry about how to attract investors and financial
institutions to fund his or her business.

However, no matter how good a business plan is, it needs a good leader with the right traits to bring
these good ideas to reality. Therefore, it leads us to the following points on the other components
which an entrepreneur needs.

Communication is an important facet of life. Communication skills are essential in all spheres of
life. Be it an interview or dealing with the project leader or working out a solution with a team or
writing a report, getting across the point effectively is what matters.....Communication is the
foundation for sharing information between people to ensure that everything is understood and
can be acted upon. Without good communication, missions fail and others can not help to fulfill
the mission. Another reason communication is important is because you leave others out of the
loop and they can not inform higher the proper status of what is going on...In the present day
information revolution and formation of knowledge societies, centers etc, the importance of
communication has increased manifold. The importance of communication management and in
day to day life of people can be judge from the following points.

Communication is the foundation for sharing information between people to

ensure that everything is understood and can be acted upon. Without good
communication, missions fail and others can not help to fulfill the mission.
Another reason communication is important is because you leave others out of
the loop and they can not inform higher the proper status of what is going on.
Communication as defined in the American Heritage Dictionary is the exchange
of thoughts, expressions, and or information. This is the basis of all
communications.
Communication among individuals, teams, units, and organizations is essential to
efficient and effective mission accomplishment. Two-way communication is much
more effective than one-way communication. Mission accomplishment depends
on information passing accurately to and from subordinates and leaders, up and
down the chain of command and NCO support channel, and laterally among
adjacent organizations.
The Army has only one chain of command. Through this chain of command,
leaders issue orders and instructions and convey policies. A healthy chain of
command is a two way communications channel. Its members do more than
transmit orders; they carry information from within the unit or organization back
up to its leaders. They furnish information about how things are developing, notify
the leader of problems, and provide requests for clarification and help. Leaders at
all levels use the chain of command to keep their people informed and render
assistance. They continually facilitate the process of gaining the necessary
clarification and solving problems.

The downfall of communication can lead to mission failure and this can not be
the case when the mission of any kind fails due to poor communication. Poor
communication between leaders and subordinates and vise versa is essential to
all mission accomplishments.

Education
Education is an essential tool for everyone to get success in life and earn respect and recognition.
Education plays great role in everyones life as it brings positive effects on the human life. It provides
ability to think in both aspects positive and negative to get surety about and handle the situation. It is
the most easy way to enhance our knowledge and expand skills to have clear view over the world. It
creates interest within us to enhance our way of life and thus country growth and development. We
can learn by watching TV, reading books, discussion and by other various means.
Proper education identifies our career goals and teaches us to live in more civilized manner. We
cannot imagine our life without education as without it we cannot develop a healthy surrounding and
generate an advance community. Everything in life is based on the knowledge and skill of the people
which ultimately comes from education. The bright future of the individual, society, community and
country depends on the education system getting followed. Increasing the demand of more
technological advancement in life enhances the scope of quality education.
It assists scientists in research works, invention of equipments, devices, machines and other
technologies required for the modern life. People are getting highly aware about the scope and
importance of education in their life and thus trying to get benefited. However, people living in
backwards areas of the country are still not able to get proper education because of the lack of some
basic requirement of the life. They are still fighting with their daily routines need. We need to bring
education awareness equally in every area for better growth and development throughout the
country.

Environment
An environment is gifted by the nature to nourish the life on the earth. Everything which we use to
continue our lives comes under the environment such as water, air, sunlight, land, plants, animals,
forests and other natural things. Our environment plays a very significant role in making possible the
existence of healthy life on the earth. However, our environment is getting worse day by day

because of the manmade technological advancement in the modern era. Thus, environmental
pollution has become the biggest problem we are facing today.
Environmental pollution is affecting our daily lives negatively in various aspects of life such as
socially, physically, economically, emotionally and intellectually. Contamination of the environment
brings lots of diseases which human being may suffer whole life. It is not a problem of community or
city, it is a worldwide problem which cannot be solved by the effort of one. If it is not addressed
properly, it may end the existence of life a day. Each and every common citizen should involve in the
environmental safety programme launched by the government.
We should correct our mistakes and selfishness towards our environment to make healthy and safe
from the pollution. It is hard to believe but true that only a little positive movements by everyone may
bring a huge change in the declining environment. Air and water pollution is leading our health on
danger by causing various diseases and disorders. Nothing can be said healthy now a day, as what
we eat is already affected by the bad effects of artificial fertilizers which reduces and weakens our
body immunity to fight disease causing microorganisms. Thats why, anyone of us can be diseased
anytime even after being healthy and happy.
So, it is a major worldwide issue which should be solved by the continuous efforts of everyone. We
should participate in the World Environment Day campaign to actively participate in the environment
safety event.

Adventure Essay 5 (300 words)

Adventures are activities full of excitement and enthusiasm to do anything impossible. All the
adventures are simple. It is tough to do however give amazing experiences in the life. It makes us to
learn new things in life and arise some positive hopes within us. It ca be done by some daring
people only however it gives different experiences to all according to the people thinking and ability
to bear problems. It depends on how and in what way people take things in their mind. Some people
take it easy and start doing as they already know about all the challenges of adventure. However
some experience it tough and decide to never do it again.
Now-a-days, many discoveries channels on the TV shows variety of adventurous activities on daily
basis. I am really fond of seeing all the adventures like sky diving, fishing, swimming, high jumping,
mountain climbing, ballooning, crossing Atlantic, car racing, buggy jumping, speed boating,
adventure trips, visiting dangerous and rare places, trekking and so many activities. Such people

doing adventurous activities in their life are creating challenges for us to do such things in life. They
give us dare, excitement and most importantly a positive future for ourselves. They tell us that life is
full of lessons and not empty for anyone, it is full of joy and adventures. They let us know that we all
have many road to go to our destination, it is another thing that some are full of only happiness and
some are full of adventure and challenges. But adventures give us lots of good experience and
teach us to always chose tough path if you really want to enjoy the life. Such adventures make us
brave and tough and prepare us to face anything in life and live a challenging life.

Family
Family, a word that so many know, but only few understand. The definition of
family in the Webster dictionary is, a house hold, ones own spouse, parents and
children. What does family mean to you? Some may say friendship, love, and
joy; while others say pain, agony, and anger. My family is my support system,
my mother, aunts, and cousins all provide me with some type of support or
guidance. To me family means love, friendship, and support.
Love is something that everyone knows about whether is receiving love or
giving love. It is a feeling that no human being can live without, my family feels
love is a big issue. I my life time there were situations that arose that I would not
have made it through without my family. When two of my closest friends died
within weeks of each other my aunt took off work so that she could be with me
during my time of grief. When I broke up with boyfriends or had big fights my
family was always there to comfort me and tell me that they love me. The love a
family member gives whether a wife, husband, child, or cousin is a love like no
other. Not everyone feels the same way, in some families loved ones are judged
on their actions, and are not shown love when they need it the most. All families
should have this golden rule: "No matter what choices that you make in life you
are still family and we will always love you. All the reasons and examples above
all show why family means love to me.
Friendship, is a very important word in any relationship, but especially big in
family. In my opinion family members should all be friends, in order to have that
close family bond, and for family members to confide and trust each other. How
often do we confide in someone who is not a friend, and someone that can't be
trusted? All those times when you felt that you were sad because you failed a
