Statement of the Problem

Conducting this survey will provide us informations regarding:

What is the demographic profile of the residents in Barangay 422 in

terms of the following:
a. Length of Stay in Barangay
b. Number of nuclear families are there in every household
c. Number of bedrooms are there in every household
d. Type of building/house of residence
e. Type of toilet facility they have
f.

Level of electrification in building/house

g. Households main source of water

h. Type of business in their area if they have
i.

Items that they own

j.

How often, if any of the family member/s, send/s money to the

household.

2. Projects they would like to be implemented.

b. Kind of barangay projects the people in Barangay 422 would like to

c. Kind of livelihood programs/trainings the residents are willing to attend

3. How do the people in Barangay 422 rate the following in their community:
a. Level of awareness of the family in the concept of family planning
b. Level of service of barangay health center
c. Level of readiness on natural calamities
d. Level of over-all performance of barangay officials
4. Profiles of the Household member list.

Hypothesis
The level of awareness of the family in the concept of family planning, service
of barangay health center, readiness on natural calamities and over-all performance
of barangay officials as perceived by the residents of Barangay 422, Sampaloc
Manila, is independent to their:
a. Gender
b. Age Group
c. Parenting Status
d. Marital Status
e. Voting Status

Scope and Limitations of the Study

This study was limited to the residents of Barangay 422, zone 43 Sampaloc,
Manila within the boundaries.
The independent variables were limited to the following: gender, age group,
parenting status, voting status and marital status.

The respondents were the residents with the age of Fifteen (15) and above.
The researcher limited the study to a total of 190 respondents.
Significance of the Study
The intention of this paper is to provide needs assessment analysis for Brgy
422 zone 43 Sampaloc Manila. The researcher used quantitative survey and
descriptive survey of the households at the areas. The survey was conducted using
a structured questionnaire that covered four parts; (i) Identification of the
respondent; (ii) checklist about socioeconomic Information; (iii) attitude-scale on
solid waste management (participation and motivation, environmental awareness,
purchase decision, and government initiatives) and performance of the barangay;
(iv) Household roster including their preferred candidates for president, vice
president and one senator.
This section provides the various reasons as to the essence of the study. This
study aimed to benefit the following:
The Residents of the Barangay 422, Sampaloc Manila
To the residents this will be one way of expressing their feelings towards the
performance of their barangay and their officials, which projects would they like to
be implemented in their barangay and the programs or training they would like to
attend. They will also express how they feel safe or unsafe in the vicinity of their
barangay.
The Officials of the Barangay 422, Sampaloc Manila
This will help them to know how their residents see their performance. It will also
serve as an eye-opener whether their actions are on point or not. They will know
what projects they can implement in their barangay that their residents would like
to cooperate.
The National Government
This will help them to figure out which barangay needs much attention, in
terms of the level of cleanliness, security and health care services. This will serve as
a basis, so that they will know which barangay should be monitored, and improve
more.
