Plants (2)

Circle Time
This week
we are learning:
This week in Circle time we will review
what was learnt last week about plants;
the 4 types of plants and the 5 things
they need to survive. This includes
trees, shrubs, herbs and vines. The 5
things they need to survive are air, soil,
water, sun and space. During Circle
time the students will continue to check
the progress of the mung bean planted
last week and begin to see the parts of
plant growing in real time.

Activity Time Science

This week in Activity we will begin learning more in depth about plants and their life cycle.
Students will learn the parts of the plant and and the function each part has. They will
learn the roots absorb water, the stem bring the water to the flower, the leaves absorb
sunlight and use that and the water to create food for the plant while the flower creates
new seeds and fruit to grow more plants. Students will learn the life cycle of plants using
flashcards, matching games, creating informational books and completing fun cut and
paste worksheets to integrate learning. Students will also continue to track the progress
of the Mung beans planted last week and see the parts of the plants and understand how
they work in real time.
At the end of the week students will begin reviewing all previously learnt material from
Term 2 in preparation for the final assessment.
