Second Sunday of Lent

Greetings of Peace. What are some things that w e should be doing during Lent? Perhaps you already have a plan. If not, here
are some suggestions.
1. Find some quiet time. Think about your life with family, friends, and co-workers. Where is there meaning? Where d oes
has Christ regularly appeared to you during your interactions with people?

2. Who inspires you? Who have been the holy people in your life? Thank God for their presence. If these inspiring people
are still alive, make it a point to thank them.

3. What do you need to change about yourself? How can you become more holy? Pray about how that could happen. Be
optimistic about being able to make that change.

4. Examine your own prejudices and biases about people. Are there opportunities to learn from people who are different
from you? We are blest to be in a city with a diverse population.

5. Give thanks to God for the worship community at Arch Street. Because you are part of the community, many people are
praying for you.

6. If you are a first-time visitor to Arch Street, number 5 above still applies: you are part o f the community here. We arent
a canonical parish, so visitors to Boston are a large part of every group that gathers for prayer here. Because w ere near
train stations and hotels, visitors to Boston find us. You might feel like an outsider, but in some w ays youre in the
majority!

7. Who in your life needs more of your love? Is there someone you know who is friendless? Is there someone you know
who is persecuted or bullied? Is it possible for you to do some little thing for them?

8. Think about people who serve you: police, fire, and other emergency responders. A kind thank you for your service to
these people w hen you see them can really make their day.

Ultimately, the goal of Lent is to become more holy, loving, and more aware of the presence of God in our lives. Blessings upon
you as you continue this journey.
