RESUMEN

En esta revisin se analiza el caso de un paciente de 15 aos que ingresa en

el servicio digestivo por un cuadro de diarreas de varios das de evolucin.
Se comienza esta exposicin con la realizacin de un breve resumen de la
situacin del paciente en el momento de llegado al servicio digestivo. A
continuacin, se describe el proceso seguido por el paciente durante su
diagnstico, haciendo hincapi en las pruebas complementarias que se
emplean para ello(analtica, tcnicas de imagen y biopsia). Adems, se
recoge el diagnstico diferencial de la colitis ulcerosa y posibles
complicaciones extradigestivas que podra presentar el paciente.
Finalmente, tras el diagnstico se plantea el seguimiento del paciente as
como el tratamiento de su enfermedad.

ABSTRACT

This review analyses the clinical case of a 15-years-old patient that is

admitted to hospital with episodes of diarrhoea. It starts with a brief review
of the patients condition at the moment of arrival. Then, it describes the
entire diagnosis process focusing on the screening tests used in it (analysis,
imaging methods and biopsy). Furthermore, it includes the differential
diagnosis of ulcerative colitis and some extradigestive complications that
this patient could suffer. Finally, it shows the follow-up programme for this
patient as well as the treatment protocols.
