Joshua, the Leader of Israel in

Canaan
Joshua took the mantle of Moses’ leadership in the
promised land of Canaan. His leadership brought Israel
basically as an invading people group into a land that
was already settled.

Joshua’s leadership was during an especially bloody

period of Israel’s history as they began to settle land for
themselves – and doing so, kicking out the people
around them. During the time of Joshua, it was also
very important that the nation of Israel be kept
religiously pure, which necessitated it seems, some very
bloody battles.

During Joshua’s lifetime, God’s promise of the promised

land was fulfilled as Israel settled in to what would be
their home for thousands of years.
Please don’t throw this away. If you’re not going to use it, leave it for
someone else to use.
