China education is the largest education system in the world. There

were 9.42 million students taking the Chinas National Higher
EducationEntranceExamination(GaoKao)onJune2015.Investment
ineducationaccountsforabout4%oftotalGDPinChina.In1986,the
Chinesegovernmentpassedacompulsoryeducationlaw,makingnine
years of education mandatory for all Chinese children. Today, the
Ministry of Education estimates that 99.7 percent of the population
areaofthecountryhasachieveduniversalnineyearbasiceducation.

International students have enrolled in over 775 higher education institutions in China. China has a
longhistoryofprovidingeducationtointernationalstudentsstudyinginhighschoolsanduniversitiesin
China.Overthepastfewyears,thenumberofinternationalstudentswhostudyabroadinChinahas
significantlyincreasedeveryyear.
Thehighereducationsectorhasgrowthaswell.Chinahasincreasedtheproportionofitscollegeage
population in higher education to over 20 percent now from 1.4 percent in 1978. At the same time,
Chinaisimprovingthequalityofeducationthroughamajoreffortatschoolcurriculumreform.
China has a consistent teacher development system. Teaching has historically been and remains
todayahighlyrespectedprofessioninChina.Teachershavestrongpreparationintheirsubjectmatter
and prospective teachers spend a great deal of time observing the classrooms of experienced
teachers,ofteninschoolsattachedtotheiruniversities.Onceteachersareemployedinschool,thereis
a system of induction and continuous professional development in which groups of teachers work
togetherwithmasterteachersonlessonplansandimprovement.

Many scholars believe the history of education in China can be traced back at as far as the 16th
centuryB.C.duringthelate"XiaDynasty"(15231027B.C.).Throughoutthisperiodoftime,education
wastheprivilegeoftheelites.
TraditionalChineseMedicine
Traditional Chinese Medicine Education has developed gradually higher and secondary professional
education, postgraduate education. The TCM higher education has been expanded in scale and its
professionalstructurehasbeenrationallyregulated.
InternationalCommunication
Since1978whenChinainauguratedtheopeningandreforminitiative,internationalcommunicationand
cooperationintheeducationsectorhasmigratedontoanewstagecheeringhealthydevelopmentof
abroadstudying,increasingnumberofforeignersstudyinginChina.

AdoptedatthethirdsessionoftheeighthNationalPeople'sCongress,promulgatedbyOrderNo.45of
thePresidentofthePeople'sRepublicofChinaonMarch18,1995andeffectiveasofSeptember1,

Preschool education is an important component of education cause in China. In urban areas, it is
mainlykindergartensof3years,twoyearsoroneyearwhichcouldbefulltimeparttime,boardingor
hourreckoned.
PrimaryandSecondaryEducationinChina
Sincethepromulgationofthe"CompulsoryEducationLawofthePeople'sRepublicofChina"in1986,
the9yearcompulsoryeducationhasbeenimplementedbygovernmentsatvariouslevelsandmade
significantprogress.
