Developed product flow requirements and work instructions (travelers) and
determined need for special tooling and training. Supported design reviews, cycletime reduction, process improvement, make / buy analysis, problem analysis,
equipment analysis and selection. Established design for manufacturability
guidelines and drafting guidelines based on customer contractual requirements and
approved engineering drawings. Performed departmental quality audits.

On Team that developed 1st space qualified electronic actuation system,


working through challenges as manufacturing engineer and delivering program
successfully.

Served as leader for continuous improvement event that converted entire


assembly floor from entirely hand solder operation to state-of-the-art surface
mount technology line for facility, reducing time to assemble and solder every
board in plant by up to 80%.

Selected to be trained as super user in application of SAP, working as


manufacturing point of contact when company changed from Deltek material
management system to SAP. Instrumental in most successful and clean
transition of UTC facilities at the time.

Led approximately 20 continuing improvements events ranging from floor


layout, installation of new equipment to creating status boards, to cause and
corrective action events for manufacturing issues.

Specified, purchased, set up, wrote operating procedures and trained employees
for circuit board solvent cleaning system used for cleaning space flight hardware
without failure for over 18 years.

Wrote companies crimping and wiring procedure based on NASA-STD-8739.4


wiring requirements. Company never had a space flight wiring failure.

Collaborated with teams to establish design for manufacturability guidelines and


drafting guidelines based on customer contractual requirements, J-STD-001 Class
3 and NASA-STD-8739 requirements, enabling company to have zero space flight
failure in over 40 years of operation.

Managed and supervised companies through hole technology assembly line for a
2 year period. Reduced assembly defects by 50 percent during this period.
