With 13 years of experience in piping design and work experience in Japan, UAE and KSA, I

PROJECTS

GASCO FEED FOR NGI & HDD-1 (JUL 09 – DATE)

Working as lead on this project! In this project GASCO is installing 36” line from Linde-Habshan
tie-in to compressors in Units-96, 97, 391, 392, 393 and 394. In HDD-1 project system inventory
is being recovered, a 16” header is running from different areas to Units-113 and 771. The
activities on this project are plot plans, routing layouts, MTO, stress analysis, addendum to DGS,
standard drawings.

ADCO BU-HASA MPP RELOCATION AND MPSMS (JUN 08 – JUN 09)

I am leading the piping team for this relocation of multiphase pumps from Huwaila to Bu-Hasa
RDS-1. Also included are MPSMs and MPFMs. Piping effort is around 10,000 man-hours.

ADCO BAB GAS LIFT PILOT PROJECT (JAN 08 – JUN 2008)

In this project ADCO intends put two of its BAB area dry wells as a pilot project with gas lift
method. I am leading the piping team. Piping activities are stress analysis, layouts, plot plans,
piping material specification, datasheets, material requisitions, MTO, BOQ, construction scope of
work.

ADCO SAS PMRFS AND NEW MANIFOLDS AT ASAB RDS (APR 07 – JAN 08)
In this project ADCO intends to enhance the plant performance in SAS area and increase the
production with new multi-slot manifolds. I led the piping team to do various activities like stress
analysis, layouts, plot plans, piping material specification, datasheets, material requisitions, MTO,
BOQ, construction scope of work.

ARAMCO ETHANE LIQUEFACTION PROJECT (Jan 07 – Apr 07)

ARAMCO intended to liquefy ethane by an additional heat exchanger.
Stress analysis for plate type heat exchanger, SIS sheets, isometrics, tie-in schedule, Hydro test
diagram, and MTO were my responsibility on this project.

SABIC BENZENE QUALITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (Oct 06 – Jan 07)

SABIC intended to improve quality of benzene to higher specs. This involved additional heat
exchangers and pumps.
Piping Layouts, Stress analysis, tie-in schedule, Hydro test diagram, MTO and isometrics were
my responsibility on this project.

KDI CO2 PIPELINE TO KDI (Jul 06 – Oct 06)

Stress analysis, tie-in schedule, layouts, MTO and isometrics were my responsibility on this
project.

ARAMCO SALES GAS AND PROPANE SUPPLY TO ALUJAIN (Apr 06 – Jun 06)

Stress analysis of sales gas and propane partially buried lines.

ADMA USSC-Water injection pressure upgrade (Aug 05 – Feb 06)

The injection water pressure is being upgraded in this project for USSC wells.
Responsibilities on this project are site data collection & as-built, piping general arrangements &
layout, isometrics, MTO, BOQ and stress analysis for 14” injection water line & pump piping.

ADCO JEBEL DHANNA TANK FARM (Mar 05 –Jul 05)

ADCO intends to increase the capacity of the tank farm to 2 million barrels per day.

general arrangements & layout, pipe supports and calculations, isometrics, stress analysis for
filling rings.

ADMA AS BUILTS (Jan 05– Mar 05)

ADMA intends to as built ZWSC, USSC & DAS Island.
I worked on this project as engineering checker.

GASCO NITROGEN PACKAGE (Oct 04– Dec 04)

New nitrogen system is installed under this project.
I prepared tie-in details and isometrics on this project.

ADCO NEW BAB PRODUCTION MANIFOLDS (Jul 04– Oct 04)

This project was regarding installation of new manifolds at BAB NCDS and Remote De-Gassing
Stations.
Responsibilities were stress analysis for manifold piping, site data collection, information to other
disciplines, piping GA, layouts, pipe supports and isometrics.

ADCO JEBEL DHANNA TANK FARM (Dec 03 – Jun 04)

Up-gradation project of ADCO Jebel Dhanna Tank Farm.
Responsibilities on this project were site data collection, information to other disciplines, piping
general arrangements & layout, pipe supports and calculations, isometrics, stress analysis for 36”
filling rings and sump pit pump piping.

ADCO NCDS HABSHAN (Apr 03 – Dec 03)

This is the expansion project of ADCO oil & Gas production facilities.
Responsible for pipe support standard, piping standard drawing, tie-in data collection and tie-in
sketches.

BAHRAIN NATIONAL GAS (Oct 02 – Apr 03)

This was a Gas compressor station.
I prepared piping layouts, pipe support, isometrics and MTO on this project.

JSP SINGAPORE (Mar 02 – Sep 02)

This was a Gas receiving and metering station.
My responsibilities on this project were finalization of plot plan, piping layouts, pipe support,
information to other disciplines and isometrics.

SITARA CHEMICALS LIMITED (Sep 01 – Jan 02)

This was a soda caustic concentration plant.
My responsibilities on this project were plot plan, piping layouts, piping material class, pipe
support, information to other disciplines and line list.

HRM BOOSING PROJECT (May 01 – Sep 01)

HRM Boosting project was a compressor station for boosting the pressure of Gas.
This was an on job training for MTO preparation training, Conceptual Layout training, Information
to other discipline training, Piping material class training.

ICI PTA LMITED (Jun 00 – Mar 01)

ICI PTA is the only PTA plant in Pakistan. My responsibilities were to take care of the mechanical
and piping modifications to the plant.
SHAHID RAFIQ PIPING ENGINEER

I was responsible for piping modifications including piping layout of new lines, isometrics, budget
preparation, support designing, preparation of test packs, designing of small sheds, platforms,
and fabrication spool drawings.

PAK ARAB REFINERY COMPANY (Dec 99 – Jan 00)

This is the biggest refinery project in Pakistan.
I prepared test package for hydro test and as-built isometrics.

STYLE TEXTILE LIMITED (Jan 00 – Apr 00)

A textile plant. The scope of work covered the layout of utilities.
I was responsible for complete layout for utilities, pipe support design, isometric checking, piping
material class selection, and line list preparation.

CRESCENT INDUSTRIAL CHEMICAL LIMITED (Sep 98 – Dec 99)

This was a polyester fiber plant.
My responsibilities on this project were special & standard support design, isometric checking and
piping standard drawings.

FAUJI JORDAN FERTILIZER (Apr 98 – Sep 98)

This was a fertilizer plant. The scope covered the piping of process, tank, and utilities areas.
I designed special pipe support and prepared isometrics.

ICI PPTA, FJFC, ROUCHE POWER PLANT, DEW (Jul 97 – Mar 98)
These were projects for on job training of piping engineering, construction activities and planning.
