PARKING AT FIRST PRES

Part of making our church a welcoming place for guests is
to make our campus as accessible as possible.
And the good news is, the church shares ownership in a
parking garage across the street, and helps to maintain
it so you can easily find free parking every Sunday and
during the week.
We leave street and on-campus parking for visitors, seniors
and those who need extra accessibility to the buildings.
If you are a church member and would like to purchase
a parking card for the church garage for $10, please stop
by the lobby desk at Edington Ministry Center during the
week.

NOTES

traditional
W O R S H I P

As we draw nearer and nearer to Holy Week, we see

more and more reminders of the horror of Christs death.
The barbed whip (on the cross) was one of the most
cruel instruments of torture having pieces of sharp bone
and lead balls tied to the leather strands and designed
to bruise and tear flesh. The scourging preceded the
crucifixion. Many times, victims died from the scourging
alone. We cannot begin to imagine the physical pain and
torture Christ suffered in carrying the sins of the world.
On top of the physical pain was the spiritual separation
from the Father. Lest we ever think that all roads lead
to God, that every religion ends in the same place,
or that it is simply a matter of coexisting in peace, we
have only the cross to remind us that there is only one
way to God the Father and that is through Jesus Christs
death, resurrection, and ascension. There is no other
way. Remember in the Garden of Gethsemane Jesus
prayed, Father if there be any other way There wasnt
and Jesus submitted to his Fathers will and paid the
price in full for your sin and mine. That is why we have
come to worship our God this day. God is in our midst this
morning. Is there anything you want to say to him?
