Every year, over 4,000 young learners from over 70 countries come
to Bell to learn English, make new friends from around the world and

Last year we welcomed over 70 different
nationalities across our courses, which gives
students an opportunity to make friends from
all over the world. On each summer course we
have maximum numbers for each nationality.
This ensures that your child meets friends from
other countries around the globe and uses their
English skills at all times.

We provide comprehensive supervision from the
moment we collect your child at the airport until
they go home. On-site, there is at least one member
of Bell staff for every six children and all staff
have been police checked. Our schools are safe
and secure.

Our teachers are fully-qualified and aim to equip
all young learners with improved communication skills
and a greater understanding of the English language
and local culture.
4. Individual attention
The maximum class size is 14. Each class has a
designated teacher, who is responsible for your
child’s language learning progress and ensures

6. Supervised study tours
Study tours give students the opportunity to visit
places of historical and cultural interest. They
are an integral part of the course, which means
students prepare for their visit in class prior to
their trip and then use research from the study
tour in their project work. Students are supervised
throughout the study tour.
7. Records of achievement
Throughout the course, students record their
achievements and experiences in a Bell language
portfolio, which they can show friends and
family. The portfolio uses the Common European
Framework Scale and is compatible with the
European Language Portfolio. After the course, your
child will receive a full report on their achievements.

Our young learners follow a busy timetable (at least eight hours per day).
Our courses are made up of a blend of the following components:

Each course offers one of the following options:

they will complete a worksheet and use
what they have learnt in their class work.
Their worksheets will form part of their
language portfolio.
Evening Events
The evening events take place daily
and are a perfect end to the day.
Popular events include discos, fashion
shows and the ‘Bell mini-Olympics’.

Cobham Hall is a historic Tudor mansion
which dates back to 1584. The school
is set in 150 acres of parkland and
boasts beautiful landscaped gardens.

Project UK is a special programme which
integrates English language learning with
tuition on a topic or subject of your choice.
Bell designs each course to suit your specific group’s
language learning needs, consolidating subject work
completed in school. Courses are for 8-17 year olds and
can be run at any time of the year (apart from July) and
for any number of weeks.

Project UK Residential
Project UK Residential is operated
at Bell Bedgebury International
School (see page 7 for details of
facilities). Groups spend their time
exploring a subject or theme through
English, in class and through study
tours to relevant places of interest.
Previous topics have included: Global
Citizenship, where students learnt
about multi-cultural modern Britain,
intercultural understanding and
cultural norms.

Project UK Outreach
Like Project UK Residential, our
Outreach programme combines
language and subject tuition. Our
teachers deliver a personalised
programme at your school and use
local educational attractions.
