Obituary

On Sunday, February 22, 2009 Fannie Patricia Morris, the beloved

daughter of the late James and Priscilla Mae Morris of Washington, DC
was suddenly called home to be with the Lord.

Fannie was affectionately known to her family and friends as

“Tricianne”. She was educated by the District of Columbia Public
School System. Fannie retired from PSI where she worked for many
years with mentally challenged adults.

Fannie was an exceptional sister, mother, and grandmother. She would

have words of encouragement and good advice whenever you needed it.
She was loving, caring, and very knowledgeable about anything you can
imagine. If you asked her a question, you better believe she had a true
answer whether you wanted to hear it or not. She loved rap music,
especially Tupac Shakur’s “Picture Me Rollin”. Her love for her family
was most important to her. Her main goals in life were to raise her
family and keep us all together.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Denver Rucker, and
her daughter, Melva Tamarsha Morris. She leaves to cherish her
memory her children Michael, Tonya, and Andria Rucker; her sister
Libby Morris and brother James Morris; her grandchildren Nicola and
Derjuan Morris and Shakur Madison. She also leaves behind her great-
granddaughter, Carmen Morris, to whom she refers to as “Her” baby.

Memories
I Am Free
Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free.
I’m following the path God laid for me;
I took his hand when I heard him call,
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day

To laugh, to love, to work or play;
Task left undone must stay that way,
I found that peace at the close of the day.

If my parting has left a void,

Then fill it with remembered joy;
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Oh yes, these things I, too, will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow,

I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I savored much;
Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all to brief

Don’t lengthen it now with undo grief;
Lift up your heart and share with me;
God wanted me now, he set me free.
