PILGRIMS PROCESS

MARJORIE PRIME

THE LOST BOY
In The Lost Boy, viewers will journey along with James M. Barrie -- the creator
of Peter Pan -- as he returns to his hometown in Scotland to visit his mother,
disenchanted with fame and still riddled with guilt over the long-ago death of
his older brother. Haunted by the past and hurt by his mother's harsh words,
Barrie turns to an unexpected friendship and his magical way with words to
confront his family's tragic past and finally put it to rest. The Cuckoo's
Theater Project presents this touching, fictionalized account of the birth of
Peter Pan at Chicago Dramatists Theatre.

THE BRIS
A bris -- the ceremonial removal of the foreskin of male Jewish babies -traditionally occurs eight days after a child's birth. But for Jewish Elena and
her gentile husband James, that eight-day window happens to land smack
dab on Thanksgiving Day. Between the lull in their marriage and the
countless stresses of planning a dinner and religious covenant in tandem,
they're really dreading this year's get-together. Attending The Thanksgiving
Circumcision will be Elena's deeply traditional mother Penny, James' blissfully
ignorant father Carl, Elena and James' horrible first son, who is weeks away
from his Bar Mitzvah, and more. Between the green bean casserole, Jewish
prayers and machetes (you read that right), this MCL Chicago production will

tribulations that come with tradition.
MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET
On December 4, 1956, a twist of fate brought Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis,
Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley to Memphis' Sun Records. The rock 'n' roll
musical Million Dollar Quartet was inspired by this famed recording session -the first and only collaboration between these legendary icons, each of
whom had an undeniable influence on American music. This thrilling
production takes you inside the studio with the four major talents who came
together as a red-hot band for one unforgettable night, and features such
enduring hits as "Blue Suede Shoes," "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On," "Great
Balls of Fire" and "Hound Dog." A hit on Broadway, Million Dollar Quartet was
nominated for 2010 Tony and Drama Desk Awards and now comes to the
main stage at Chicago's Apollo Theater.

R&J : THE VINEYARD
Based on Romeo & Juliet, Capulet and Montague families ignite intense
cultural lines between hearing and non-hearing in 1890s Marthas Vineyard
when a unique deaf/hearing bilingual agricultural community gave way to a
budding tourism industry. This beautiful and physical production is both

spoken and performed in American Sign Language and is intended for all
audiences.
DIRECT FROM DEATH ROW: THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS
Nine African-American teenagers were falsely convicted of assaulting two
white women and spent decades in the legal system fighting for their lives.
In Steins play. the boys return from eternity to keep their story alive
through songs, a magic act, skits and soft shoe - all to convey the tawdry
show that their case became.

THE PLAY ABOUT MY DAD


The authors father was a doctor in Gulfport, Mississippi during Hurricane
Katrina who stayed behind to tend to those who couldnt or wouldnt
evacuate to safety. Their fights for survival against the storm are played
against the backdrop of the doctors relationship with his daughter. Ravens
production of this meta-theatrical tragicomedy will be staged shortly after
Katrina's tenth anniversary.
