5.1 Meaning
1.
Teacher says out two sentences in front of the class and pupils listen.
Instruction
I will say a few sentences and I want all of you to focus and listen carefully.
I like riding my bicycle. The bicycle is mine.

When saying the sentences, teacher will show word cards that contain the possessive
adjectives and possessive pronouns. For example;

I like riding my (teacher shows a card with the word my printed on a yellow card) bicycle.
This bicycle is mine (teacher shows a card with the word mine printed on a yellow card).

The teacher has to say the sentences a few times.

Teacher calls out a pupil and ask him/her to say the same sentences using the same
possessive adjective and possessive pronoun but different things. For example;
I like drawing using my pencil. This pencil is mine.
The pupil has to show the word cards when he/she is using the words.

Instruction
Aina, can you repeat the sentence that I said just now. This time I want you talk about your
own things instead of bicycle. For example; I like to draw with my pencil. This pencil is mine.
When you say the word my, show the word to the class.
When you say the word mine, show the word to the class.

Teacher repeats the steps using other words. (you yours, his his, her hers, our ours,
your yours)
A pair of a possessive adjective and a possessive pronoun will be printed on different
coloured cards from another pair, for example;
i.
you, yours printed on red cards
ii.
his, his printed on orange cards etc.

5.2 Use
1.
Teacher writes 2 sentences with blanks on the board. For example;
I like riding _____ bicycle. The bicycle is _______.

Teacher pastes word cards that have the answers randomly on the board. (my and mine)

Teacher calls a pupil and ask him/her to fill in the blanks with the words given.
Instructions
Imran, can you fill in the blanks with the words on the cards?
Reward System
The whole class recite the Good Job Chant when a pupil answers correctly.

Good job, good job.

Teacher repeats the steps for the other possessive pronouns.

5.3 Form
1.
Teacher distributes worksheet to pupils. Teacher asks pupil to complete the task given.
Instructions
Please complete the worksheet that I have given.

Teacher prepares three versions of the worksheet to cater the pupils levels. (remedial,
average, enrichment)
Reward System
Teacher prepares motivational rubber stamps and stamps them on the worksheet of the pupils
who complete the task.
