4.1 Role Play the Story

1. Teacher asks pupils to form 6 groups.
Instructions:
1) Pupils, please line up. One line boys, one line girls. I want you to
count from 1 to 6, starting from you (the first person in the front).
After 6, start counting from 1 again.
2) Now, who is number 1? Please gather here. Number 2 here,.... no 6
here.
3) Ill give each group a short story.
2. Teacher demonstrates the role play by:
a. getting a pupil to act like he/she is playing badminton, one pupil
acting like spinning top, one pupil flying a kite, one pupil playing
skipping rope while teacher playing drawing picture.
b. using the badminton racket, top, kite, rope and spinning top.
Instructions:
1) Listen pupils. Today, we are going to play the Role Play.
2) Discuss with your members in the group, who will act like playing
badminton, spinning top, flying a kite, skipping rope, drawing a
picture and who wants to read the short story.
3) Ill demonstrate to you how to play. Group 1, please come forward.
Abu, you take this racket, Badrul take the top, Cassie take the kite,
Dawina take the rope and me will take this pencil. Elisya will read
the short story.
3. Teacher instructs pupils to carry out the role play in their own groups
using the equipments and short story.
Instructions:
1)
As Elisya read the story, all of you need to act. For example, I am
holding this pencil, I need to act like I am drawing a picture as Elisya
read Azmeera enjoys drawing. And I can say, I like to draw
everyday.
2) You can say something if you want. No need to worry about the
mistakes. Ill give stars to the group who give the best performance.
4. Teacher monitors and provides guidance if needed.
