Political Accommodation: Employment

School year is about to end and new graduates will about to face the challenge of
job hunting. Finding a job is a very difficult task and one should be thankful for
having one. Private or public employment, which is which? Private employment
nowadays is increasing as there are lots of BPOs (call center) in the country in which
now and then are always hiring. Employment in private involves a series of stages
in hiring. It is based fully in merits, skills and standards and one must pass all those
stages in order to be worthy of a position. As to security of tenure an employee
becomes regular once the probationary period is finished which is six month after
initial employment with corresponding approval of the employer as to efficient work
services.
Government employment, on the other hand, generally depends on something
which demands services, funding allocations, and qualifications. However one
addition to such is political accommodation. Political accommodation is not required
by law for government employment is based on merits and skills, in fact the csc has
set qualification standards for government positions if it is a job order position
naturally you are only bond to contracts, job order request and the like; and if it is a
regular position, security of tenure falls within the new performance based set by
the csc and not with the old appointment based position. But whatever type of
employment it may be, the political approval is impliedly necessary.
So how are you employed?
Lucky are those who are employed with no interventions from unsolicited approvals
of politicians. Nowadays, especially with the upcoming elections political
accommodations and favors are flooding and not everyone is aware of that.
Government employment nowadays is greatly affected by political partisans. One is
hired not based on qualification but by political accommodation. It is an
embarrassment to oneself by trashing away all qualifications and embracing the
siege of political accommodation.
Basically, parents teach their children to go to school in order to have a bright
future and that includes acquiring a suitable job. But is education really leads to a
brighter future? When you dream of a government employment then mostly your
future is dull gray. To minimize my criticism, not every employment in the
government are politically accommodated there are however agencies in the
government with no political interventions but mostly there are.
Political accommodations include audiencing to politician for approval for
employment, recommendations, kaila system and duol sah dughan system and
even promotions are affected with these accommodations. Without that you have a
low percentage of being hired or promoted. And whats really sad of being politically
accommodated is that you are required to do favors as a debt of gratitude for your
employment. You will be utilized for political regimens and even in personal matters.

Worse is that it never ends until such the term ends. Promisingly your employment
depends in one's political fondness.
Those accommodations and the favors in turn are the first step of corruption.
Political accommodations affect government services as it tends to start to make
the favors of public officials. It creates a puppetry shows wherein the ones in
government positions are mandated by political favors which are hard to be turned
down obviously as the famous quotation goes absolute power corrupts absolutely".
Also government services are affected by employees, who are politically
accommodated, without the required qualifications and skills to the position therein.
Some government offices with political interventions are stocked with personnel
who are tasked to do clerical jobs but are computer illiterates and even apparently
illiterates and such offices could not even complain because of fear to political
wrath of corruptive power.
