Existing system

system Analysis is a detailed study of various operations performed by system

and their way to collect data is traidition ways i.e. by using resiters.
All the work was done mannually by librarian. here the key question is what all
problems exists in present system?what just be done to solve the problem?
analysis begins when a user or manger begins a study of existing sysytem.
During analysis, data collected on the various files, decision points and transac
tion
handled are mannually created problem for manger and user. Training, experience a
nd
common sense are required for collection of relevant information needed to devel
op
the system. The success of the system depends largely on how clearly the problem
is
defined, thorougly investigated and properly carried out through the choice of s
olution.
A good analysis model should provide not only the mechanisms of problem understa
nding
but also the frame work of the solution.thus,it should be studied thoughly by co
llecting
data about the system. then the proposed system should be analyzed thorougly in
accordance
with the needs.
System analysis can be categories ino four parts
1:- System planning and inital investigation
2:- Information gathering
3:- Applying analysis tool for structure analysis
4:- Feasibility study
5:- cost/benefit analysis
System planning and inital investigation
In system planning we collect the detailed study of various operations performed
by system
dfd of existing system:Information gathering
In information gathering,we use following techiniques
1:-Interviwe users
2:- taking information from previous library manager(teacher)
Interview users
Face-to-face contact with users through individual interviewing is the primary s
ource of
requirements and an important way you gather and validate their requirements. Re
member
that it is not the only possible technique, and that you can conduct interviews
many
different ways. Develop a repertoire of styles to fit different situations.
Unless you use the system yourself, you will need to make an effort to understan
d
and experience the user's problem to describe it clearly and correctly.
Taking information from previous library manger(teacher)
The starting point for many projects is often a similar or an existing system. S
ometimes,
comparable products and systems contain working versions of good ideas for solvi
ng user

problems.By this we can save the time lost in reinventing the wheel by looking a
t systems
already working. Even this help us in solving slightly different problems,
they often provide valuable clues as to what you need to do.
Applying analysis tool for structure analysis
we use Prosa structured analysis tool,it is a visual system and development envi
ronment which
support industry standar. It help in design with real-time extensions modelling
method.
It aslo supports data flow diagrams, state transition diagrams and entity relatio
nship diagrams.
It has integrated data dictionary. It guides designer to create perfect and prop
er relevent graphs
that help in project work. Prosa provides automation creation of all for impleme
ntation of sql,
code headers.its ensures exactly to perfect or exact to performance document whi
ch contains with
software design.
Feasibility Study
Feasibility Study in software development life cycle is a process that determine
whether the solution is achievable
for future or not. In the process of feasibility study, the cost and benefits are
estimated with greater accuracy.
A feasibility study is a shot, focused study that aims to answer a number of ques
tions:
Does system contribute to overall objectives of the organization?
Can the system be integrated with other system which are already in place?
cost/benefit analysis
In our existing system all the transaction of books are done manually, So taking
more
time for a transaction like borrowing a book or returning a book and also for se
arching of
members and books. Another major disadvantage is that to preparing the list of b
ooks
borrowed and the available books in the library will take more time, currently i
t is doing as a
one day process for verifying all records. So after conducting the feasibility s
tudy we decided
to make the manual Library management system to be computerized.
Problems in the cirrent existing system
1:-lack of of security.
2:-the lack of storage in common mistakes.
3:-Too much paper in the room of large sum of money to take wastage. If you purc
hased a computer system from all
the paper used for our other purposes will make it even more free space.
4:-Poor data storage-all data isstored in filling cabinets.Data may be incorrect
due to human error.
a lot of data can be easily stolen.
5:-A lack of information.
6:- Slow retrivel of data-information stored in different locations, and the data
is returned as long as it takes.
7:-Manual systems to operate slowly.instead of issuing and place,to take the boo
ks back to using a computer and
and a card index update will be a slow and laborious.
8:-Staff with manual system, mechanical, clerical tasks rather than liasing librar

y visitors spent most of their time.

9:-Its difficult to find new services to offer a wider range.
10:- the hand written data bases are not reliable because afew human error, for
example, can be caused by an in
incorrect telephone number will create problem in future.

Proposed System
Proposted system is an automated Library Management System.Through our sowftware
user can add
members/students,books,search member and book,update information,edit informatio
n and return
books in quick time.our proposed system has the the following advantages.
1:-user friendly interface,
2:-Fast access to database,
3:-Less error,
4:-More storage Capacity,
5:-look and feel environment,
6:-quick transaction.
all the manual difficulties in managing the library have been rectified by imple
menting
computerization.
Chapter Problem Analysis
we have created the system for library managment which include the book issue,re
turn and fine calculate
It make work easy, efficent and specific task.
feasiblity Study begins once the goal are defined. It tell us about the possibili
ty that how the new system will look like.
how the new system will look like. By using this, there is no need to go into the
detailed system's operations.The
solution must include the information such that it estimates about the project c
ost and gives the indication that how systwm will
fit into the organization.
