PROTECTIVE CLOTHING

HEAD PROTECTION

EYES AND FACE PROTECTION

Workers shall wear high visible clothing (retro reflective


material) engaged in work on site at boys and girls club.

Be sure that workers wear hard hats where there is a po


tential for objects falling from above, bumps to their
heads from fixed objects, or accidental head contact on
site.

Safety glasses or face shields are worn anytime work


operations can cause foreign objects geting into the eye
such as during welding, cutting, grinding, nailing (or when
working with concrete and/or harmful chemicals or when
exposed to flying particles.

Garments should be worn properly, meaning they should


be the right size for the person wearing it.Vests and
jackets should be kept closed on the front and sides to
ensure visibility from 360 degrees.
Garments should be kept in good, clean condition and
replaced when worn or dirty so as to preclude their
function as high
visibility clothing.

Hard hats are routinely inspected for dents, cracks or de


terioration before workers go out to site.
Hard hats are replaced after a heavy blow or electrical
shock at (time of accident).
Hard hats must maintain in good condition.
(weekly check will be in play before work).

FOOT PROTECTION

Safety-toed footwear is worn to prevent crushed toes



when working around power tools or falling objects from
above shade structures.

Workers must wear the right gloves for the job heavy-duty rubber
gloves for concrete work and insulated gloves.
All gloves must fit tight to prevent any damage to hands from machin
ery or mishandling tools.

Eye and face protectors are selected based on antici



pated hazards.(face protectors will be used when burning
wood.)
Safety glasses or face shields are worn when exposed to
any electrical hazards including work on energized elec
trical systems.

LADDERS

Construction workers should wear work shoes or boots


with slip-resistant and puncture-resistant soles.

HAND PROTECTION

ELECTRICAL SAFETY

casing: S, ST, SO, STO.).

Use only lockout/tagout devices authorized


for the particular equipment or machinery
and ensure that they are durable,
standardized, and substantial.

Make sure that ladders are long enough to safely reach


the top of shade structures.
Mark or tag (Do Not Use) damaged or defective lad
ders for repair or replacement, or destroy them immedi
ately.

Frayed, damaged or worn electrical cords or cables are


promptly replaced.

Never load ladders beyond the maximum intended load


or beyond the manufacturers rated capacity.

All extension cords have grounding prongs.

Be sure the load rating can support the weight of the


user, including materials and tools.

Protect flexible cords and cables from damage. Sharp


corners and projections should be
avoided.

Avoid using ladders with metallic components near elec


trical work and overhead power lines.

All electrical tools and equipment are maintained in safe


condition, checked regularly for defects, and taken out of
service if a defect is found.

Do not bypass any protective system or device designed


to protect employees from contact with electrical energy.
Ensure that ladders, scaffolds, equipment or materials
never come within 10 feet of
electrical power lines.
All electrical tools must be properly grounded unless
they are of the double insulated type.

Use extension cord sets used with portable electric tools


and appliances that are the three-wire type
