: Mock trading for testing readiness of Disaster Recovery Site
In keeping with global best practices the Exchange has setup its Disaster Recovery (DR) Site to
ensure speedy recovery of its services to members in a disaster scenario wherein the primary site
becomes non-operational. The Exchange will conduct a mock trading session on Saturday,
February 13 to test the trading & other operational applications from its DR site.
For the convenience of the members, the Exchange has scheduled the DR mock session on
Saturday 13th February, instead of a Sunday.
The timings for the mock trading session are as follows:

*Members who participate in mock trading are advised to login once again between 3:00 PM and
3:30 PM to the NCDEX Primary site to avoid login problems on Monday, February 15 2016.
Members are advised to backup their existing initialization parameters to avoid problems during
re-login.
Members are requested to note the following with respect to the mock trading:
a)

Scope of DR Mock:
a. Trading
b. NEXTRA
c. Extranet
d. NCFE
e. Comtrack

b)

All Members are requested to go through Annexure A for various options available to
connect to the DR Site. This will specify any network configuration changes to be done at
the members end.

c)

Based on the mode of connectivity, members will need to change their Tradex Workstation
(TWS) configurations as per Annexure B and NEXTRA terminal as per Annexure F in
order to connect to the Trading server at the DR Site.

d)

Members connecting through CTCL will need to change their configurations at their CTCL
server end as per Annexure C, in order to connect to the Trading Server at the DR Site.

Members will need to login to Extranet Site to download their daily files. Refer to Annexure
D for details.

f)

Members will need to login to NCFE and perform standard routine activities. Refer to
Annexure D for details.

g)

Members will need to login to Comtrack to check the connectivity as well as perform certain
routine exercises. Refer to Annexure E for details.

h)

Members should note the changes in contact numbers and Fax numbers of customer
support group for the duration of the mock trading session:

Members are hereby requested to note that for DR mock session, following production
systems at primary site will be unavailable from Saturday, 13th February 2016 04:30 hrs
onwards till 19:00 hrs.

Annexure A

1) For Members having P2P 2Mbps:

Members who have alternate MPLS lines to NCDEX DR can connect and trade
over the MPLS lines.

Members who do not have alternate MPLS lines connected to NCDEX DR can
connect to the DR Site over ISDN or Internet only. Members are requested to
activate their ISDN lines (with STD facility) or ensure they have VPN setup to
login over Internet.

In addition, Members need to make changes in Tradex, NEXTRA or CTCL


applications as detailed in Annexures B, F or C respectively.

For help on configuration of routers for DR ISDN connectivity , members are


requested to contact Network Support team on +91 22 66406635 (one week in
advance) and during DR mock drill, for any configuration and troubleshooting
issue, members may kindly contact +91 22 66473261.

2)

For Members having MPLS or VSAT

Members do not need to make any changes at their network end.

Members would need to make changes in Tradex, NEXTRA or CTCL


applications as detailed in Annexures B, F or C respectively.

3) For Members using Internet

Members would need to configure a new connection at their VPN client as


detailed in Annexure B, Point No. 2.1

Members would need to make changes in Tradex or NEXTRA applications as


detailed in Annexure B, Point No. 2.2 or Annexure F.

2.1 Changes at VPN client
Members are required to configure Cisco VPN client to connect to DR site. They will be required
to make a new connection entry as per procedure detailed below:
The VPN configuration screen can be obtained by clicking on new button on the VPN Client.
