DOT Holds Learn English
Roadshow in Japan
The Department of Tourism in
Japan,
with
language
schools and universities from
the Philippines, held a "Learn
English in the Philippines Autumn Roadshow" in Fukuoka,
Osaka, Nagoya, and Tokyo
last November 15 to 22, 2015.
The seminars and business
sessions gave the agents and
other visitors a better appreciation of ESL, especially the
benefits of studying English in
the Philippines.
The event was held in the
four embarkation points in
the country where there are
direct flights going to Manila
and Cebu. The participating
language schools and universities gathered almost 100
inquiries and closed 28 of
them. The road show welcomed almost 170 visitors in
four key cities in West Japan.
This is the 5th year the Department of
Tourism held
the said event.

First Study in the Philippines Exhibit held in Taiwan

DOT in partnership with Dewey International Education organized the first Study in the Philippines Exhibition in Taiwan from
December 11 to 13, 2015. Dewey International is one of the
most active education agencies selling ESL packages in Taiwan.
Dewey International sees the potential of the Philippines as an
alternative ESL destination in Asia. Since 2010 they were able
to send a total of 6,000 students to the country. They report
the following as preferred ESL destinations: Cebu, Baguio,
Iloilo, Boracay, Clark, Subic, and Bacolod. The event was held
in key cities of Taipei, Taichung and Kaohsiung. Some of the
represented schools include Paradise English in Boracay, Philinter, SMEAG and QQ English in Cebu, La Salle Bacolod and
others. Each school had a one-minute presentation of their
offerings and raffle games were also held to attract more visitors. The participants were not disappointed as they were
able to report a total of 500 visitors, 300 inquiries and a total of
30 closed deals.
