Habits Of
Effective
Highly Winner

Winning the race like the hare and the

tortoise!!!

We all know the story about the tortoise and the hare.It concerns aharewho
ridicules a slow
moving tortoiseand is challenged by him to a race. The hare soon leaves the
tortoise behind
and, confident of winning, decides to take a nap midway through the course.
When he awakes,
however, he finds that his competitor, crawling slowly but steadily, has arrived
before him.

Do you wish for more success in your life? Whether it is professionally or

personally we all wish we could master success. We have to want to change.
Perhaps it might help to consider the story of the tortoise and the hare. This
familiar children's tale can be easily applied to the field of personal development
success if we only consider 7 habits this story teaches us.

Habit # 1 : Have Goal In Our Life

The hare deserves to win because he is the fastest. However in the end he does not
win, the race does not go to the fastest at all. In the end, the race goes to the
tortoise who simply wants it more. We should never make assumptions about who
is going to win in the long race of life and why they will win. We have to focus on
what we want and continue to work very hard for that goal.

If you don't know where

you are going, you will
probably end up
somewhere else.
~Lawrence J.
Peter

Habit # 2 : Focus On The Finish Line

The hare is easily sidetracked from the goal of winning the race because he
believes the outcome is sure. He is not in the race for the long haul because he
does not think he needs to be. If anything is worth having, then it is worth it to you
to be in the race for the long haul. Do not get sidetracked by short-term delights
and distractions. Focus on the finish line and the sweet rewards of victory.

Obstacles are those

frightful things you see
when you take your eyes
off your goal. ~Henry Ford

Habit # 3 : Go With Dogged Persistence

The tortoise suffers the taunts of the hare and faces the same distractions and
disturbances the hare
does. However the tortoise works through the difficulty because he is focused on the
end result. He knows his path to victory will not be easy or smooth. However
accepting the troubles that comes his way and continuing to plod forward means
that eventually he will succeed where others fail.

The 1st round of the race, the tortoise won the hare, because it kept
walking while the other was careless. The moral of the old story is
that slow and steady wins the race.

But sometimes, more often that

not,we found out that we are busy
for nothing, and all over the places
without primary focus. Slow and
steady sometimes is good, as long
as we are moving ahead. Therefore
DONT GET FRUSTRATED if you think
YOUR PROGRESS IS SLOW, as long
as you making the PROGRESS
FORWARD!!

Habit # 4 : Fast and consistent

If you have two people in your organization, one slow, methodical and reliable, and
the other fast and still reliable at what he does, the fast and reliable chap will
consistently climb the organizational
ladder faster than the slow, methodical chap. It'sgood to be slow and steady; but it's
better to be fast and reliable. Work smart, fast and reliable!

The 2nd round of the race, the hare won the tortoise, because it ran
as fast as it could. The moral of the story is that Fast and consistent
will always beat the slow and steady. It's good to be slow and
steady; but it's better to be fast and reliable.

Everyone makes mistakes, its how

much you learn from the mistake and
how fast you bound back is the most
crucial. The Hare, realizing his
mistake in first race, admit that he
was negligent and willing to face his
own mistakes and bound back from
his mistake. He doesnt hide away or
cry somewhere deep in the wood in
humiliation! He faces his mistake and
asked for rematch.

Habit # 5 : Work On Our Core Competencies

More specifically, you need to determine what core competencies are needed to meet
your specific goals and objectives. Once this wish list of core competencies is
developed, you need to identify gaps and overlaps, and resolve the gaps by
developing yourself. Continued effort is needed to make sure those competencies and
skills are being leveraged.

The 3rd round of the race, the tortoise changed the situation and overcame the hare,
because the hare could not swim across the river. The moral of the story is that First
identify your core competency
and then change the playing field to suit your core competency. Working to your
strengths will not only get you noticed, but will also create opportunities for growth
and advancement.

When we feel competent, we can

greet new environments with calm
and confidence. Our competency
helps those around us feel more
comfortable and secure and it
inspires them to seek knowledge
and skill in their own domain.

Habit # 6 : Ask The Others To Help You Achieve Your

Pooling resources and working as a team will always beat individual performers. A
Goal
team building success is when your team can accomplish something much bigger
and work more effectively than a group of the same individuals working on their
own. You have a strong synergy of individual contributions.

The 4rd round of the race, they work as a team. The tortoise took over and swam
across with the hare on his back. On the opposite bank, the hare again carried the
tortoise and they reached the finishing line together. The moral of the story is that
unless you're able to work in a team and harness each other's core competencies,
you'll always perform below par when comparing to good working team.

Don't miss opportunities to

empower your employees.
Say thank you or show
appreciation of an individual
team player's work. Don't
limit yourself to negative
feedback. Be fare.

Habit # 7 : Think Like The Winner

People who never achieve success usually fall in love with their excuses. It isn't
the truth about yourself and your abilities that hurts you; it is the negatives you
consider to be true that hold you back. Abandon your excuses and learn to
overcome the obstacles to success ... one oil drum at a time. Think like the
winner!!!

A winner is someone who

recognizes his God-given
talents, works his tail off to
develop them into skills, and
uses these skills to
accomplish his goals.
- Larry Bird

You can always tell what your true values and beliefs are by looking at your actions.
It isn't what you say or wish or hope or intend that demonstrates what you really
believe. It is only what you do. It is only the behaviors that you engage in. It is only
the actions you choose to undertake. And out of your actions come all the elements
of your life. These are moral lessons of this story we should know.

Many of us spend too much time

and energy focusing on our
limitations and weaknesses - our
"pimples." We all have talents and,
by the same token, we all have
flaws. My advice is to find the
things you're good at and the
things you're not. Then immerse
yourself in the ones that make you
shine.

Thank You Very Much
