TEXT:
John 6:111

1 After
these
things
Jesus
went

over the
sea of
Galilee,
which is
the sea

of
Tiberias.
2 And a
great

multitude
followed
him,
because
they saw

his
miracles
which he
did on
them that

were
diseased.
3 And
Jesus

went up
into a
mountain
, and
there he

sat with
his
disciples.

4 And the
passover
, a feast
of the

Jews,
was nigh.
5 When
Jesus

then
lifted up
his eyes,
and saw
a great

company
come
unto him,
he saith
unto

Philip,
Whence
shall we
buy
bread,

that
these
may eat?

6 And
this he
said to
prove
him: for

he
himself
knew
what he

would
do.
7 Philip
answere

d him,
Two
hundred
pennywo
rth of

bread is
not
sufficient
for them,
that

every
one of
them
may take
a little.

8 One of
his
disciples,
Andrew,

Simon
Peter's
brother,
saith
unto him,

9 There
is a lad
here,
which

hath five
barley
loaves,
and two
small

fishes:
but what
are they
among

so
many?
10 And
Jesus

said,
Make the
men sit
down.
Now

there
was
much
grass in
the

place. So
the men
sat
down, in
number

about
five
thousand
.

11 And
Jesus
took the
loaves;
and

when he
had
given
thanks,
he

distribute
d to the
disciples,
and the
disciples

to them
that were
set
down;
and

likewise
of the
fishes as
much as

they
would.
----------

Today, I
am
continuin
g the
daily Just

Jesus
Evangelis
tic
Campaig
n sermon

series,
which is
aimed at
sharing
the

Gospel of
the Lord
Jesus
Christ
with

unbelieve
rs and
remindin
g
Christian

s, in this
important
election
year, to
keep the

main
thing the
main
thing -and that

is
reaching
unbelieve
rs with
the

Gospel of
the Lord
Jesus
Christ
and

praying
for their
salvation,
for the
problem

in
America
is not
only
disobedie

nt
president
s,
politician
s, and

people,
but
disobedie
nt
pastors,

preacher
s, and
parishion
ers who
have

refused
to obey
the
Lords
Great

Commiss
ion which
is to, Go
ye into all
the

world,
and
preach
the
gospel to

every
creature.
and
who have
refused

to obey
God's
repeated
comman
ds to

"pray
without
ceasing"
for
unbelieve

rs,
believers,
and
political
leaders.

Yes, you
should
pray for
the right
candidate

to win;
yes, you
should
vote for
the

candidate
that the
Lord
gives you
peace

about
voting
for. But,
don't get
caught

up in it
like the
world
does.
Nothing

much is
going to
change
until
people

get saved
and get
their
hearts

right with
the Lord.
This
campaign

is
inspired
by the
following
three

verses: 1
Corinthia
ns 2:2
which
says,

"For I
determin
ed not to
know
anything

among
you, save
Jesus
Christ,
and him

crucified.
" Acts
5:42
which
says,

"And
daily in
the
temple,
and in

every
house,
they
ceased
not to

teach and
preach
Jesus
Christ."
And 2

Timothy
2:4 which
says, "No
man that
warreth

entanglet
h himself
with the
affairs of
this life;

that he
may
please
him who
hath

chosen
him to be
a
soldier."

This
series is
not for
Christian
s

necessari
ly.
However,
I do hope
you are

one of
those
saints
who still
loves to

hear the
"Old, old
story of
Jesus
and His

love" -As
another
hymn
says,

"For
those
who
know it
best

Seem
hungerin
g and
thirsting
to hear it

like the
rest."
This
series is
primarily

for
unbelieve
rs, so
they can
hear and

understa
nd the
Gospel
and be
saved

from sin
and the
punishm
ent of sin
which is

hell. This
is
message
number
66.

Leon
Morris
said, For
the

significan
ce of this
story we
must
bear in

mind that
the figure
of eating
and
drinking

is widely
used in
the Old
Testamen
t. It is a

figure of
prosperit
y, and it
is often
used of

the
blessings
the
people of
God

would
enjoy in
the
Promised
Land.

Before
feeding
the 5,000,
Jesus

takes this
opportuni
ty to test
his
disciples

-- to see
where
their
hearts
and

minds
were
regarding
the
ministry

that He
was
training
them to
carry on.

The
question
was
simply,
'How do

you think
we
should
feed all
these

people?'
Philip
failed the
test: he
only

looked at
human
means of
solving
the

problem,
and he
conclude
d that
even

extraordi
nary
human
effort -raising

eight
months'
worth of
daily
wages --

would
not have
been
enough.

Andrew
answers
next, and
he does
only a

little
better
than
Philip.
"Andrew,

Simon
Peter's
brother,
saith
unto

Jesus,
There is a
lad here,
which
hath five

barley
loaves,
and two
small
fishes:

but what
are they
among
so
many?"

Instead
of
looking
at what
they

didn't
have
(eight
month's
worth of

wages),
at least
Andrew
looks at
what they

did have
and
brings it
to Jesus
-- a little

boy with
a lunch
of five
barley
loaves

and two
small
fishes.
Unfortun
ately,

Andrew
immediat
ely
discount
s the little

that they
do have.
Short of
sending

the
people
away to
buy food
for

themselv
es, the
other
disciples
apparentl

y have no
other
ideas.
The other
Gospels

tell us
that
Jesus did
not want
to send

the
people
away for
fear that
they

would
grow
faint on
the way
back to

their
homes.
Instead,
Jesus
directs

His
disciples
to begin
organizin
g the

crowd to
receive
the
miracle.
"Jesus

said,
Make the
men sit
down.
Now

there was
much
grass in
the place.
So the

men sat
down, in
number
about
five

thousand
." There
were
likely
about

10,000
people
there
counting
women

and
children.
Notice
the

orderline
ss in
which
Jesus
carried

out this
task.
There
was no
sudden

appearan
ce of
stockpile
s of food;
there was

no mad
rush of
people
trying to
get hold

of a meal.
Jesus
and His
twelve
disciples

handled a
crowd of
about ten
thousand
tired,

hungry,
irritable
people.
Notice
also the

simplicity
in which
Jesus
carried
out this

task.
There
was no
fanfare,
no

flourishe
s, no
pompous
announc
ement,

no long,
elaborate
prayer.
"Jesus
took the

loaves;
and when
he had
given
thanks,

he
distribute
d to the
disciples,
and the

disciples
to them
that were
set down;
and

likewise
of the
fishes as
much as

they
would."
The
miracle

of
multiplica
tion took
place in
Jesus'

hands.
He
simply
kept
handing

the food
to His
disciples,
and they
kept

distributi
ng it to
the
people
until they

had eaten
their fill.
It was
done so
quietly

that there
were
likely
some
people

there in
the
crowd
who
missed

the actual
miraculo
us
occurren
ce

entirely.
All they
knew was
that, one
moment,

there was
no food,
and the
next
moment,

someone
was
coming
up to
them

offering
them a
meal.
Yes, God
works in

mysterio
us ways,
but He
also
works in

quiet,
almost
unnotice
able

ways as
well.
When we
look at

the life of
Jesus in
the
perspecti
ve of

what was
happenin
g in the
world
during

that time,
we see
that God
was
working

in similar,
almost
unnotice
able
ways as

well.
Every
Christma
s, we
remembe

r the
bright
star from
the east,
the

angels
announci
ng His
birth, and
the wise

men
bringing
gifts fit
for a
king. But,

to the
world of
that day,
Jesus
was just

another
baby
born to a
poor,
newlywe

d Jewish
couple, in
the
unremark
able town

of
Bethlehe
m. Every
Easter,
we mark

the
momento
us events
surroundi
ng Jesus'

death,
burial,
and
resurrecti
on -- the

greatest
events in
the
history of
the

world.
But the
rest of
the world
at that

time, just
saw
Jesus as
another
rebel

Jewish
leader
who had
crossed
the

Roman
governm
ent and
was

being put
to death.
What so
many

didn't
realize
was that
Jesus'
crucifixio

n was not
just that
of
another
criminal,

but the
Son of
God who
had
willingly

took
upon
Himself
the
criminal

acts of all
other
people
who had
lived or

who had
yet to live
so that
He could
deliver

them
from
eternal
separatio
n from

God in
that awful
place
called
Hell. By

His
death,
burial,
and
resurrecti

on, this
same
Jesus
who fed
the 5,000

fish and
bread in
the
wildernes
s became

the Bread
of Life to
so many
more.

Joseph
Parker
said,
Humans
need

Jesus
Christ as
a
necessity
and not

as a
luxury.
You may
be
pleased

to have
flowers,
but you
must
have

bread.
Jesus is
not a
phenome
non, He

is bread:
Christ is
not a
curiosity,
He is

water. As
surely as
we
cannot
live

without
bread, we
cannot
live truly
without

Christ: If
we know
not
Christ we
are not

living,
our
movemen
t is a
mechanic

al flutter,
our pulse
is but the
stirring of

an animal
life.
Do you
desire to

take part
of the
Bread of
Life
today?

Do you
desire to
be born
again and
spend

eternal
life with
God in
Heaven?
If so,

here is
how you
can
receive
Jesus

Christ as
your
Savior
today.

1. Accept
the fact
that you
are a
sinner,

and that
you have
broken
God's
law. The

Bible
says in
Ecclesias
tes 7:20:
"For

there is
not a just
man
upon
earth that

doeth
good,
and
sinneth
not."

Romans
3:23
reads:
"For all
have

sinned
and come
short of
the glory
of God."

In fact, I
am the
chief of
sinners,
so don't

think that
you're
alone.

2. Accept
the fact
that there
is a
penalty

for sin.
The Bible
states in
Romans
6:23:

"For the
wages of
sin is
death"

3. Accept
the fact
that you
are on
the road

to hell.
Jesus
Christ
said in
Matthew

10:28:
"And fear
not them
which kill
the body,

but are
not able
to kill the
soul: but
rather

fear him
which is
able to
destroy
both soul

and body
in hell."
The Bible
says in
Revelatio

n 21:8:
"But the
fearful,
and
unbelievi

ng, and
the
abomina
ble, and
murderer

s, and
whoremo
ngers
and
sorcerers

, and
idolaters,
and all
liars,
shall

have
their part
in the
lake
which

burneth
with fire
and
brimston
e: which

is the
second
death."

4. Accept
the fact
that you
cannot
do

anything
to save
yourself!
The Bible
states in

Ephesian
s 2: 8, 9:
"For by
grace are
ye saved

through
faith: and
that not
of
yourselve

s: it is a
gift of
God. Not
of works,
lest any

man
should
boast."

5. Accept
the fact
that God
loves you
more

than you
love
yourself,
and that
He wants

to save
you from
hell.
Jesus
Christ

said in
John
3:16, "For
God so
loved the

world,
that He
gave His
only
begotten

Son, that
whosoev
er
believeth
in Him

should
not
perish,
but have

everlastin
g life."
6. With
these

facts in
mind,
please
repent of
your

sins,
believe
on the
Lord
Jesus

Christ
and pray
and ask
Him to
come

into your
heart and
save you
this very
moment.

The Bible
states in
the book
of
Romans

10:9, 13:
"That if
thou
shalt
confess

with thy
mouth
the Lord
Jesus,
and shalt

believe in
thine
heart that
God hath
raised

Him from
the dead,
thou
shalt be
saved."

"For
whosoev
er shall
call upon
the name

of the
Lord
shall be
saved."

Dear
friend, if
you are
willing to
believe

on the
Lord
Jesus
Christ for
salvation,

please
pray with
me this
simple
prayer:

Heavenly
Father, I
realize
that I am
a sinner

and that I
have
done
some bad
things in

my life.
For
Jesus
Christ
sake,

please
forgive
me of my
sins. I
now

believe
with all of
my heart
that
Jesus

Christ
died for
me, was
buried,
and rose

again.
Lord
Jesus,
please
come

into my
heart and
save my
soul and
change

my life
today.
Amen.

If you
believed
in your
heart that
Jesus

Christ
died on
the
cross,
was

buried,
and rose
again,
allow me
to say,

congratul
ations on
doing the
most
important

thing in
life and
that is
accepting
Jesus

Christ as
your Lord
and
Saviour!
