From Death to Life, Part 3 (Just Jesus Evangelistic Campaign,

Day 56)
TEXT: John 5:24-27
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and
believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not
come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is,
when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they
that hear shall live.
26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the
Son to have life in himself;
27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also,
because he is the Son of man.
---------Today, I am continuing the daily Just Jesus Evangelistic
Campaign sermon series, which is aimed at sharing the Gospel
of the Lord Jesus Christ with unbelievers and reminding
Christians, in this important election year, to keep the main thing
the main thing -- and that is reaching unbelievers with the Gospel
of the Lord Jesus Christ and praying for their salvation, for the
problem in America is not only disobedient presidents
politicians, and people, but disobedient pastors, preachers, and
parishioners who have refused to obey the Lords Great
Commission which is to, Go ye therefore, and teach all nations
and who have refused to obey God's repeated commands to
"pray without ceasing" for unbelievers, believers, and political
leaders. Yes, you should pray for the right candidate to win; yes,

you should vote for the candidate that the Lord gives you peace
about voting for. But, don't get caught up in it like the world does.
Nothing much is going to change until people get saved and get
their hearts right with the Lord.
This campaign is inspired by the following three verses: 1
Corinthians 2:2 which says, "For I determined not to know
anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified." Acts
5:42 which says, "And daily in the temple, and in every house,
they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ." And 2
Timothy 2:4 which says, "No man that warreth entangleth himself
with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath
chosen him to be a soldier."
This series is not for Christians necessarily. However, I do hope
you are one of those saints who still loves to hear the "Old, old
story of Jesus and His love" -- As another hymn says, "For those
who know it best Seem hungering and thirsting to hear it like the
rest." This series is primarily for unbelievers, so they can hear
and understand the Gospel and be saved from sin and the
punishment of sin which is hell. This is message number 56.
John Piper said, In Judas and Pilate and Herod and Jewish
crowds and Gentile soldiers and our sin and Jesus' lamblike
submission, God delivered over His Son for our salvation.
Nothing greater has ever happened.
Most people feel some trepidation or uncertainty about their
eternal future. They wonder about what comes after death and
whether or not anything we do or say now will affect our eternal
future. Well, what If I told you someone was in charge of life after
death and eternity and you had the opportunity to gain eternal

life by simply believing on Him? Would you take advantage of

that opportunity?
Well, it turns out you can do just that. The person who is in
charge of all life -- before and after death -- is Jesus Christ. He
tells the Jewish religious leaders in this passage that just "as the
Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have
life in himself." You see, our life is given to us. The air we breath
and the time that we live on is borrowed. It comes from Jesus
Christ. He and God the Father are the only ones who possess life
in and of themselves. They do not depend on anyone or anything
for their existence. They are entirely self-sufficient.
One theologian said, "Our life is derived, but His life is original 'in
Himself.' John 1:4 says, 'In Him was life.' The grave could not
hold Him because He is the 'Prince of Life.' Jesus laid down His
life and then took it up again. Because He has life in Himself, He
can share that life with all who will trust Him."
The life that Jesus possesses is eternal; it never ends. Eternal
life can be extended to us if we believe on Jesus as our Savior. If
we place our faith and trust in Him, He will ensure that we have
eternal life with Him after we die. How can He do this? Because
He has the authority to do so. In verse 27, He said God "hath
given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the
Son of man." Everyone will face Jesus Christ at the end of their
life as judge, and depending on what you did with Jesus in this
present life will determine whether you spend eternity in hell or in
heaven with the Lord. Our sentence -- eternal life or eternal death
-- all hinges on what we do with Jesus Christ in this life.
In 1967, a young man by the name of Archie Fain murdered a
young football player and raped the two girls who were with him.

He was tried, convicted, and put in prison to serve his sentence.

When it was announced that he was being paroled, there was a
huge outcry against letting a murderer and rapist free in society.
There was so much public protest that, on two separate
occasions, Archie Fain's parole was denied. Eventually, however,
the denial was overridden by the Supreme Court.
During this time, a newspaper reporter decided to do a report on
the man's case. He spent hours talking to Archie Fain and
discovered somehow he had chosen to believe on Jesus Christ
in prison. Jesus had given him the gift of eternal life, and the man
had become a "model prisoner." The reporter said, "The man
who was released the other day is not the same man who was
put into prison." When he was finally set free from prison, Archie
Fain not only had a new life, but he had eternal life.
If Jesus can give a murderer and rapist like Archie Fain eternal
life, surely He can give this great gift to anyone. He is in charge
of all life and judgment. He has the authority to bestow upon you
life or death, heaven or hell -- yet He gives you a choice in the
matter. Will you place your faith and trust in Him?
If you have not yet believed on Jesus Christ as your Saviour,
here is how.
First, accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have
broken Gods law. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: "For all have
sinned and come short of the glory of God.
Second, accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible
states in Romans 6:23: "For the wages of sin is death
Third, accept the fact that you are on the road to hell. Jesus
Christ said in Matthew 10:28: "And fear not them which kill the

body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is
able to destroy both soul and body in hell." Also, the Bible states
in Revelation 21:8: "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the
abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers,
and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which
burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Now that is bad news, but heres the good news. Jesus Christ
said in John 3:16: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his
only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life." Just believe in your heart that
Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the
dead by the power of God for you so that you can live eternally
with Him. Pray and ask Him to come into your heart today, and
He will.
Romans 10:9 & 13 says, That if thou shalt confess with thy
mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God
hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved For
whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
If you believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins,
was buried, and rose from the dead, and you want to trust Him
for your salvation today, please pray with me this simple prayer:
Holy Father God, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done
some bad things in my life. I am sorry for my sins, and today I
choose to turn from my sins. For Jesus Christ sake, please
forgive me of my sins. I believe with all of my heart that Jesus
Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. I trust Jesus
Christ as my Savior and I choose to follow Him as Lord from this
day forward. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my
soul and change my life today. Amen.

If you believed in your heart that Jesus Christ died on the cross,
was buried, and rose again, allow me to say, congratulations on
doing the most important thing in life and that is accepting Jesus
Christ as your Lord and Saviour! For more information to help
